When Life Gives You Tangerines is a hit with subscribers
Now, to move on from Squid Game, there have been other relatively successful K-dramas on Netflix in 2025.
One such K-drama that has resonated with audiences has been the romantic drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines. The pairing of musicians IU and Park Bo Gum was too irresistible for some not to tune in, and not to mention the incredible performances from Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon, which cemented the K-drama’s place as the second-best-performing Korean series on Netflix in 2025.
| Title | Hours | Views |
|---|---|---|
| When Life Gives You Tangerines | 577,000,000 | 34,800,000 |
Compared to other K-dramas produced by Netflix, the series had an unusual release. Across March, batches of four episodes were released weekly. While K-drama fans are no strangers to weekly releases, it’s rare for Netflix to release episodes in batches for a K-drama. Whatever the reason for the release schedule, it seemed to work, and fans and critics alike fell in love with the series, making it one of the standout performers so far in 2025.
The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is another great medical drama
Medical dramas are a dime a dozen. However, when done right, they are often some of the best-performing television shows around. You’ve only got to take a look at American television, where shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, House, Chicago Med, and ER have been massive hits. The same can be said for Korea, with shows like The Good Doctor, Hospital Playlist, and Doctor Stranger. Now, to add another name to the list is The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.
For hours viewed, it is beaten by When Life Gives You Tangerines by the hundreds of millions. However, when compared against the number of Netflix Views, the medical K-drama narrowly misses out by 700,000 to be Netflix’s second-best-performing Korean original in 2025.

| The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call | 236,600,000 | 34,100,000 |
The series stars Ju Ji-hoon, who was a massive hit with subscribers thanks to his role as Crown Prince Lee Chang in the zombie-horror series Kingdom. His role as Baek Gang Hyeok was the actor’s first appearance on Netflix for five years, and his performance was nothing short of brilliant.
If you’re looking for something new to watch, then definitely give The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call a watch!
Weak Hero Class has had a great 2025
One of the most popular additions to Netflix in 2025 has been Weak Class. Not only was the long-awaited sequel season released exclusively on Netflix, but we finally saw the debut of the first season on the platform in March 2025.
Since making their respective debuts, Weak Hero Class has been the standout performer on Netflix. Individually, both seasons trail behind the likes of When Life Gives You Tangerines, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, and Bogotá: City of the Lost, but collectively, the series has outperformed every new K-drama on Netflix except for Squid Game.
| Title | Hours | Views |
|---|---|---|
| Weak Hero Class 1 | 122,900,000 | 22,300,000 |
| Weak Hero Class 2 | 112,800,000 | 19,600,000 |
| Total | 235,700,000 | 41,900,000 |
