After Football Manager 2025 was both delayed and subsequently canceled, it was unclear what the future of Football Manager would be on Netflix. Today, Sports Interactive, Sega, and Netflix have confirmed that the new entry will indeed be coming to Netflix beginning on November 4th, 2025, with the mobile version releasing day and date alongside the upgraded experience on other platforms.
As with the 2024 iteration, Netflix gets the mobile version, which has a different feature set from the main release on PC and consoles. Per the official description, “FM26 Mobile brings fast, classic management gameplay with simplicity at its core.”
Since FM2024’s addition to Netflix in late 2023, it’s been one of Netflix’s most successful games to date. In exclusive data we revealed alongside Variety last month, Football Manager 2024 is one of Netflix’s most-played games. We did an analysis of the Netflix daily game top 10s for an extended period, which measures daily playtime, and the game ranked as the third most popular, only behind Solitaire and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Although the 2025 edition of the game was canceled, Sports Interactive extended support for the Netflix Game.
One bonus is that in this year’s entry, you’ll finally be able to carry your saved games over between different editions of the app. In earlier versions, when the new game came out, you had to start fresh. With FM26 Mobile, you can seamlessly transition your career from FM26 into FM27 Mobile (and beyond), preserving your progress year after year.
More details on the game launching on November 4th can be found on the official site’s blog.
Netflix’s iteration does come with one drawback, however. As noted via an asterisk on the aforementioned blog post, the game on mobile won’t be getting the big engine overhaul to Unity that the main entries will be receiving. It’s also unclear whether the old game will be discontinued.
Also, just a side note, it’s interesting that Netflix, which is heavily pushing towards Cloud gaming through connected devices and web in the coming months and years, hasn’t managed to obtain the license, at least for now, to bring the main game to its service. Perhaps something for the future.
