After months of speculation, we finally know that Santa Clarita Diet returns for Season 3 later this March. The gory and graphic horror-comedy has been in demand for months now and fans can’t wait to binge on a third season just like Sheila feasts on flesh. Here’s all we know so far about the third season of Santa Clarita Diet including the cast, plot, release date, and trailer.
Santa Clarita Diet is a Netflix Original horror-comedy series created by Victor Fresco. The zombie drama debuted on Netflix in February 2017 and soon became a smash hit for subscribers across the globe. Starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant, the series has been praised greatly for its story and mythology. It is also well known for its graphic scenes. If you are faint of heart you best turn away because there are a LOT of guts and PLENTY of gore.
Sheila and Joel are ordinary husband and wife realtors until Sheila undergoes a dramatic change that sends them down a road of death and destruction. In a good way.
Santa Clarita Diet Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

Both and Abby and Joel have escaped from their respective confines, and Abby was able to get the bile for Sheila’s serum. Abby had also finally found herself a guilt-free food source from her self dubbed ‘lobster tank’ in the form of a neo-Nazis baseball team. Another undead individual named Romana was introduced and instead of freezing her ball like Sheila, she kept it in a tank to which the ball grew legs and walks like a spider.

It was revealed that Gary, who Sheila had killed in season one had ‘lived’ to tell the tale. Gary became undead as his brain was never destroyed to which he is now a decapitated talking head locked up in the Hammond’s basement. The Source of Sheila’s issue may have been tracked down by Joel after he discovers a strain of clams called Ruby Reds that Sheila had eaten. The clams came from a Serbian cave and others who consumed the clams were affected too. Unbeknowest to the Hammonds, Paul and Sheila had been tracking them and destroyed the clams to ensure no one else would be infected.

Sheila has a blackout after becoming too stressed and eats another Neo-Nazi ‘lobster’ but has no recollection doing so. Joel and Sheila were placed under arrest by Police Officer Anne Garcia, but after learning of Sheila’s undead condition and her exploits (not to mention Gary’s talking head) she questions God. Is Sheila is doing God’s work? Officer Garcia asks for a sign.
A ginormous explosion was set off (a side effect of Eric and Abby’s political activism) giving Anne the ‘sign’ she needed from God. She bows to Sheila asking “how may I serve you?”

What to expect: Santa Clarita Diet Season 3
The third season will further explore the mythology of the world of Santa Clarita Diet. There will be a large focus on the origin of Mr. Ball Legs and the Knights of Serbia who’s existence is to find zombies and to prevent the outbreak. Paul and Marsha have been following the exploits of the Hammonds and we can expect them to cross paths with each other eventually.
Eric and Abby began their environmental activism in Season 2 and by blowing up the fracking trailer. The teenage pair could bring even more trouble to the Hammonds through their activism.
There will be many threats that Sheila and Joel will have to contend with, but ultimately we expect a lot of weird twists and turns along the way.

There is no confirmation on whether or not this will be the final season of Santa Clarita Diet. The show has become a fan favorite amongst subscribers so we expect Santa Clarita Diet to run for at least another season. There are also a lot of loose ends within the story that may not be tied up by the end of season three.
