Fear Street Prom Queen Netflix Soundtrack List

Picture: Netflix

Fear Street: Prom Queen is now on Netflix and serves as the fourth entry following a trilogy of movies releasing over the course of the Summer of 2021. Much like those original movies, Fear Street: Prom Queen features a soundtrack very much designed for the era it’s set in: the 1980s.

The soundtrack for this film leans hard into ’80s nostalgia, pulling together a mix of iconic tracks from artists like Billy Idol, Judas Priest, Laura Branigan, and Power Glove to set the tone. Songs like “White Wedding,” “Cruel Summer,” and “Sweet Dreams” bring out the emotional and rebellious edge of the decade, while choices like “Never Gonna Give You Up” and “I Think We’re Alone Now” hint at a knowing sense of humor.

If you’re thinking—hey, that soundtrack sounds a lot like Stranger Things—you’d be right. Given how synonymous that show has become with the 1980s for many younger generations, we suspect that may continue with Fear Street now, too.
