The Innocents is due out on Netflix soon and we’re going to take you through everything you need to know about the upcoming sci-fi series releasing on Netflix on August 24th including trailers, casting, rumours and more.

So what exactly is “The Innocents” and what is it all about? Its premise is focused on two teens who run away from their mysterious origins possessing abilities. The teenagers are called Harry and June and while Harry’s abilities aren’t yet widely known, Junes are.

June has the ability to shapeshift into others as we see her do numerous times throughout the trailer. This ability is also possed by her mother so look forward to comprehensive flashbacks throughout the series.

All the while she’s being hunted by a doctor who’s played by Guy Pearce.

How many episodes?

There have been confirmed to be eight episodes. This is a slight break from Netflix’s normal orders of 10 to 13 episodes.

When and Where is “The Innocents” launching?

The Innocents will be available on Netflix around the world as its a full Netflix Original.

It’ll land on Netflix around the same time as other Netflix Originals. For those on the west coast of America, you’ll be able to watch at 12 am on Friday, those on the East Coast at 4 AM. For those in the United Kingdom and Europe, you’ll be able to watch from 8 AM on Friday morning. Australia will have to wait until around 7 PM in the evening.

Who stars in The Innocents?

The headline roles for The Innocents are played by Sorcha Groundsell, Percelele Ascott and Guy Pearce. Sorcha will be playing June who is known for her time on the show Clique. Percelle plays Harry who appeared in the Netflix Original series Pompidou as well as appearing in Wizards vs Aliens. Guy Pearce is the veteran of the cast having appeared in Memento, LA Confidential, The Rover and Knockout.

The other main character featured predominantly throughout the trailers is Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson who plays Steinar.

Other recurring cast members include Laura Birn, Sam Hazeldine, Arther Hughes, Nadine Marshall, Lise Rison Olsen and Ingunn Beat Oyen.

  • The show is predominantly filmed in England and Norway
  • The production company behind the show is New Pictures who have produced British shows such as The Missing, Catherine the Great, Requiem and Rellik.
  • Carly Paradis is providing the soundtrack. Her previous works includes Line of Duty, Moon, True Detective and Homeland.
