After a decade of speculation, the most anticipated heavyweight boxing match in British history is officially set. Former world champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will face off for the first time ever in a historic bout, streaming live and exclusively on Netflix on Friday, December 11, 2026, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) and Anthony “AJ” Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) are two of the best British heavyweight boxers over the past decade. Somehow during that time, the pair have never faced off against each other, and for years their fateful clash has been teased. Finally, a date with destiny has been set as HE Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation, confirmed that the pair will finally clash at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Friday, December 11, 2026.

The event will be streamed live and exclusively on Netflix to its 325 million subscribers. Like all live events on Netflix, it will come at no additional cost to subscribers.
A British fight like no other
Despite years of anticipation, a bout between Fury and Joshua always seemed just out of reach. Many fans assumed the fight would never materialize, particularly after Fury’s fifth career retirement following his back-to-back title losses against Oleksandr Usyk. Hope for the clash was rekindled after Fury’s return to the ring on April 11, 2026, when he defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov and, in the wake of his victory, issued a direct challenge to Joshua.

Joshua’s response to the Fury’s challenge further teased boxing fans.

Despite a hasty social media post from Netflix UK & Ireland, the fight was not booked in the immediate aftermath. In the months following the event, the fight has been teased by both camps, leaving fans to speculate if and when it would ever happen; meanwhile, behind the scenes, all of the details were being ironed out before the big announcement.
The Principality Stadium is one of the largest sporting venues in the UK with a seating capacity of over 73,900, and is home of Welsh Rugby. With tens of thousands of people ready to pour into the stadium for the epic clash and tens of millions watching from home, this is a fight British boxing will never forget.
