The release of Unauthorized Living, known in Spanish as “Vivir sin permiso”, quietly arrived on Netflix in early 2019, and it’s absolutely worth your time. We learned about the renewal quite early, and now we know that season 2 of Unauthorized Living will be available on Netflix in late January 2020.

As you may know, Netflix has been acquiring many foreign titles to bolster its lineup of Netflix Originals. The first season of Unauthorized Living was released on Netflix on Friday, February 15th, 2019.

The series’ Spanish name translates literally to “Living Without Permission” and initially aired on Telecinco. This detail is significant for the show’s future since it’s distributed by Netflix internationally rather than being fully produced by the streaming service.

Has Unauthorized Living been renewed for season 2?

Yes, the series was immediately granted a second season. This renewal happened even before the first season aired in Spain, likely due to Netflix’s early interest in the show.

The show performed very well in Spain, with over 2.7 million viewers tuning in for the first season, which roughly translates to a 19% share.

The renewal was announced alongside a Tweet from the production studio. The translated message roughly states: “We have started filming season 2 of @VSPserie! #VivirSinPermiso”

The cast members confirmed to return for season 2 include José Coronado, Álex González, Pilar Castro, Àlex Monner, Ricardo Gómez, Claudia Traisac, Carlos Hipólito, Unax Ugalde, Giulia Charm, and Luis Zahera.

When will season 2 of Unauthorized Living be on Netflix?

We had anticipated a 2020 release, but thanks to an update on the show’s page on Netflix, we now know that season 2 of Unauthorized Living will be available on Netflix worldwide on January 31, 2020. The series was not initially included in the January 2020 lineup.
