The cast for Netflix’s highly anticipated fantasy-romance A Matter of Time is rapidly expanding. We can exclusively confirm three new additions to the new movie which has kicked off production in London, including familiar faces from The Last Kingdom and Starstruck.
Later today, we’ll be sharing an exclusive first look at stars Ben Stiller (Severance, Zoolander), Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue, The Idea of You), and Bella Maclean (Sex Education) filming on location in London. Ahead of those, we can confirm three more exciting UK talents being added to the ensemble for director Harry Bradbeer’s upcoming feature.
Here is a breakdown of the newly confirmed cast members joining A Matter of Time:
- Emma Sidi – British comedy fans will immediately recognize Sidi for her hilarious, scene-stealing turn as Kate in the beloved rom-com series Starstruck. Her impressive comedic resume also boasts appearances in Ghosts, Pls Like, and a highly entertaining stint on the UK panel show Taskmaster.
- Amy Wren – Netflix historical drama fans, rejoice! Wren is best known to subscribers for playing Mildrith, the first wife of Uhtred of Bebbanburg, in the smash-hit series The Last Kingdom. Beyond Wessex, her notable credits include roles in the legal drama Silk, the thriller series Viewpoint, Little Women, and Andrea Arnold’s film adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
- Cecily Cleeve – This young actress is quickly building a very impressive Hollywood resume. Cleeve recently appeared as a Skrull Young Girl in the MCU blockbuster The Marvels and has also secured roles in Joy and Widow Clicquot. That’s in addition to a recent TV role on Netflix’s Legends from earlier this year.
Character names and specific plot functions for Sidi, Wren, and Cleeve are currently being kept under wraps by the streamer.
They join a production helmed by Harry Bradbeer, a staple of the Netflix family who previously directed both Enola Holmes movies, and who is globally celebrated for his Emmy-winning work on Fleabag.
Penned by an all-star writing team that includes Justin Haythe, Madeleine George, Peter Byrne, and Oscar-winner Simon Beaufoy, A Matter of Time follows an unlikely angel who is sent from heaven to convince a reclusive man to give up his life for the greater good. However, when the man agrees, his impending death triggers a new lease on life, leading to a romance that threatens to alter the course of history.
A Matter of Time is currently filming on location in the UK and is being produced by Debra Hayward, Larry Mark, and Sony Pictures, with Michael Dreyer executive producing.
As the cameras continue to roll throughout the summer, we’ll be keeping a close eye out for any further casting announcements. Since production is still heavily underway as of July 2026, we expect the film to hit Netflix sometime in the latter half of 2027.
