Nothing can stop the hordes of the undead… unless you are Netflix that is. Yes, sadly we must report that modern zombie classic Shaun of the Dead has been scheduled to leave Netflix.

Shaun of the Dead is a British comedy-horror written by Simon Pegg and director by Edgar Wright. The classic zombie romcom is the very first title in the Cornetto trilogy. Writers Pegg and Wright were inspired to create the film by their love of classic zombie titles, especially those made by George A Romero. The film became a huge platform for the careers of Pegg and Wright and the pair have done incredibly well since the release of the film.

The film is about a 30-something guy who has become a dull loser. When his girlfriend breaks up with him because of his childish nature, Shaun is forced to take a hard look at himself. Deciding to get his life in order, there is just one thing that stands in his way…a zombie apocalypse. After coming up with a plan to save his girlfriend, her annoying friends, and his mother, they must make their way to their safe haven, The Winchester Pub.

What date is Shaun of the Dead scheduled to leave Netflix?

Shaun of the Dead is scheduled to leave Netflix on February 1st. The beginning of the month is always the busiest time for Netflix, this applies to both additions and for titles leaving Netflix.

This applies to Netflix US. The only other regions streaming Shaun of the Dead are:

  • Germany
  • India
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • Switzerland

Just because the title is scheduled to leave, this doesn’t mean Shaun of the Dead won’t return to Netflix eventually.
