Are we returning to the picturesque landscapes of Nova Scotia? You bet. Sullivan’s Crossing is officially returning for a fifth season. With Season 4 now streaming on Netflix globally (for the most part, including the US0, fans are already eager to find out what’s next for Maggie and Cal. Here is our comprehensive preview of everything we know so far about Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5 and when it’ll be coming to Netflix.
Based on the beloved novels by Robyn Carr (the same author behind Virgin River), Sullivan’s Crossing has quickly become a staple for romantic drama fans. With a cast led by Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray, and Scott Patterson, the series has garnered a massive worldwide audience.
With Season 4 wrapping up its run on CTV and The CW before landing on Netflix US in late June 2026, all eyes are now pointing toward the highly anticipated fifth season.

Has Sullivan’s Crossing been renewed for Season 5?
Yes! The show has officially been given a series pick-up for Season 5.
We can confirm that the new season has an episodic order of 10 episodes, keeping in line with previous seasons. The run time will also remain at a standard 60-minute television block (roughly 42-45 minutes without commercials) per episode. The CW will remain the first home for the show in the United States.
Where is Season 5 in production?
According to our latest production intel, Sullivan’s Crossing season 5 is currently in the Pre-Production phase as of late July 2026.
Filming is scheduled to get underway at the end of the summer, with shoot dates slated between August 25, 2026, and December 11, 2026. Like previous seasons, production will take place on location in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
What to expect from Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5
Warning: Major spoilers ahead for the Season 4 finale!
Season 4 tested the waters for Maggie and Cal, largely thanks to the lingering complications surrounding Maggie’s ex-husband, Liam. However, the season 4 finale (titled “Healing Hearts”) saw Maggie firmly closing the chapter on Liam to fight for Cal.
The two reunited in the final moments of the season, giving in and realizing they are meant to be together. The massive cliffhanger, however, came the morning after with a completely unexpected proposal that promises to change the dynamic of the show heading into Season 5.
Speaking to Swooon (via Cinemablend), series star Morgan Kohan weighed in on the sudden milestone and how it perfectly sets up the upcoming fifth season:
“Why not? You know, once they’re committed… I know Maggie is like full-in, Cal’s feeling good post-everything that’s happened. Why waste time? Why not just dive on in? They’ve been through so much together that, if you can continue to stick it out, have the love and support and respect for each other that the two of them do have, I think that they can kind of get through anything.”
Season 5 will undoubtedly explore the fallout of this major leap, showing us if Maggie and Cal can successfully “dive on in” and plan a life together, or if the ghosts of their pasts will resurface to test their commitment once again.

When will Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5 be on Netflix?
Currently, Sullivan’s Crossing streams on Netflix in 33 countries around the world. Because it is a licensed title (airing first on CTV in Canada and The CW in the US), its Netflix arrival depends entirely on the broadcast schedule.
For Netflix US:
Let’s look at the historical release data for the US so far:
- Seasons 1 & 2: Added on July 8, 2025
- Season 3: Added on August 12, 2025
- Season 4: Added on June 30, 2026
If filming wraps in December 2026, Season 5 will likely hit our TV screens via CTV and The CW in the Spring of 2027. Following the historical release trend, we expect Season 5 of Sullivan’s Crossing to hit Netflix US in June or July 2027, shortly after its network finale airs.
For International Regions:
For fans outside the US, release dates vary wildly. Major international territories like the UK, Germany, India, and Japan actually received Season 4 before the US (rolling out as early as February 2026). Expect a similar early-2027 turnaround for these regions as soon as the global distribution window opens.
What about Canada?
Ironically, despite being filmed in Canada, Netflix Canada is actually the furthest behind. Because Bell Media (CTV/Crave) retains the primary broadcast and streaming rights domestically, Canadian Netflix subscribers only have access to the first three seasons right now. Don’t expect Season 5 to drop on Netflix Canada until well after its Crave exclusivity window expires.
While waiting, you’ve no doubt already checked out Virgin River, which will soon be returning for its eighth season on Netflix, likely sometime in early-to-mid 2027.
