The final countdown is officially on. In just a matter of hours, The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act—which consists of the show’s highly anticipated finale, Episode 9: “Remember” (alongside the already released eighth episode)—will make its global debut on Netflix. The grand conclusion arrives tonight, June 19th, 2026, dropping alongside the YouTube premiere at exactly 11 PM BST following a completely unprecedented, record-breaking theatrical run.

The psychological dark comedy from creator Gooseworx and the team at GLITCH Productions has been an absolute juggernaut since its initial YouTube debut back in 2023. If you’ve been eagerly waiting to see how the twisted journey of Pomni, Jax, Caine, and the rest of the digital crew finally concludes on Netflix, your patience is about to be rewarded in just a few short hours.

As we previously reported in March, Episode 8 premiered on YouTube but was noticeably absent from Netflix. This wasn’t cause for panic, though! During the GLITCH Direct 2025 presentation, the creators explained an evolving release strategy for their Netflix licensing deal. Because Netflix viewers are heavily accustomed to binge-watching, GLITCH and Netflix decided to move away from the simultaneous day-and-date individual episode drops we saw earlier in the show’s run.

Instead, they opted to bundle new episodes together—a strategy that worked wonders when Episodes 5, 6, and 7 were released as a unified batch back in December 2025.

Now, the grand finale is getting the exact same treatment, but with a massive theatrical twist that has taken the entertainment world by storm over the last two weeks.

“The Last Act” combines the recently released Episode 8 with the brand-new, hour-long Episode 9: “Remember” to form an extended-length conclusion. Before hitting our screens tonight, this final act dominated the cinema box office. According to Cartoon Brew, GLITCH’s partnership with Fathom Events initially completely shattered presale records, grossing over $7.5 million in the U.S. before the doors even opened.

However, over its exclusive two-week theatrical window (which wrapped up yesterday, June 18th), it evolved into a true blockbuster phenomenon. Driven by fierce, dedicated fan campaigns, the cinematic event expanded its footprint from 900 to over 2,000 theaters worldwide. Raking in tens of millions of dollars globally, the indie juggernaut boasted sold-out auditoriums weekend after weekend, famously outperforming major Hollywood studio releases and cementing GLITCH’s “leap of faith” as one of the most lucrative and successful independent animation events in box office history.

The theatrical release was a surprise announcement alongside the finale trailer, where the team wrote:

“Hey guys! We’re going to the big screen for the very first time!! This is a CRAZY leap of faith we’re taking for indie animation, and we couldn’t be more excited. The hour-long grand final episode of TADC will be combined with Episode 8 and shown EARLY at hundreds of cinemas around the world from June 4th.

We’re furiously contacting theatres to get this out to as many places as possible. If it’s not in a movie theatre in your location, respectfully call your local movie theatre and ask them to air! It might just work!”

What is Episode 9: “Remember” about?

So, what can fans actually expect when the clock strikes 11 PM BST tonight? If the official synopsis is anything to go by, things are looking remarkably bleak. Following the explosive events leading up to the finale, Caine is gone, leaving the circus completely dark. Our beloved cast is left entirely to their own devices, forced to face the lingering mistakes and traumas of their pasts.

As the terrifying prospect of eternity sets in, Pomni and the gang will finally discover the ultimate truth about the Digital Circus and its mysterious history. The big question remains: will they come to terms with what they uncover, or will they make… “the other choice”?

Rest assured, though, Gooseworx and the team haven’t entirely abandoned the show’s dark comedic roots. As the official Fathom Events description cheekily promises, “presumably at some point someone says something funny, because this ending can’t be THAT depressing, can it?”

It’s been a wild ride for The Amazing Digital Circus on Netflix. From breaking out into the weekly global top 10 charts to giving us all a minor heart attack with an erroneous “leaving soon” notice late last year, the show has definitively proven to be one of the most vital pieces of independent animation in streaming history.
