When will ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ be on Netflix?

DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths

It’s been years in the making, and finally, the largest crossover event in Arrowverse history, Crisis on Infinite Earths, has arrived. But eager Netflix subscribers following the shows through the streaming service will be asking when will they get to watch Crisis on Infinite Earths on Netflix? Unfortunately, subscribers will have to wait a little while longer but here’s when Crisis on Infinite Earths will be on Netflix.

Please Note: The release dates mentioned below are from the Netflix US library.

What is Crisis on Infinite Earths?

Crisis on Infinite Earths is the crossover event between every DC superhero series on The CW. The event will see the teaming up of heroes from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorow, Black Lightning, and Batwoman. This is the first time Black Lightning has interacted with characters from the other CW series, and the crossover will also see the return of some incredibly iconic figures from DC’s on-screen past.

The crossover story has been adapted from the comic book storyline of the same name that shook the foundations of the DC comics in the mid-1980s. Its resulting story changed the landscape of its fictional universe and has been felt for decades afterward. Without going into too much spoiler territory, the resulting storyline saw the deaths of some of DC’s most iconic superheroes.

The effect the comics had on its own universe will have a similar result for the television series. Once it all concludes, Arrowverse as we know it will be changed forever.

What order of episodes do I need to watch Crisis on Infinite Earths in?

As a crossover event, it’s not as simple as watching all five parts on one series, instead, the crossover has been split across five separate shows:

Crossover EpisodeSeriesSeasonEpisode
3The Flash69
5Legends of Tomorrow50

Annoyingly, out of the five series on the list of above, only one of them, Batwoman, will be missing from Netflix. This means you will have to look elsewhere to watch the second episode of the franchises’ biggest crossover event.

Supergirl: Season 5

Netflix Release Date: May/June 2020

Netflix subscribers that have followed the CW series through their Netflix subscription will have learned by now that the latest seasons of Supergirl and other CW shows aren’t available to stream until all episodes have aired on the CW.

Typically, seasons from the CW end in May or June but the finale release dates aren’t confirmed until the Spring. Regardless, excited subscribers eager to watch Supergirl and Crisis on Infinite Earths will be waiting until May or June of 2020.

Batwoman: Season 1

Netflix Release Date: N/A

It was a huge surprise to many that Batwoman wasn’t licensed to Netflix, especially when so many of the CW shows are available on the streaming service. What makes it even harder for fans is the fact that Batwoman will be taking part in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, but that particular episode, part two, won’t be available on Netflix to stream.

In the USA you can watch episodes of Batwoman on the CW website, or alternatively you can stream episodes of Batwoman on the streaming service on FuboTV and HBO Max.

The Flash: Season 6

Netflix Release Date: May/June 2020

Like Supergirl, the latest seasons of The Flash don’t arrive on Netflix until the series finale has aired on the CW. Typically the series finale air around May and are available to stream on Netflix a couple of weeks after the air date.

Arrow: Season 8

Netflix Release Date: February 2020

Aside from Batwoman, Arrow is the most complicated of the bunch this season. With the series ending after eight seasons, and concluding with only ten episodes, the last episode of Arrow will air in January 2020. If Arrow follows up with releasing the final season a couple of weeks after its finale air date, then it should arrive in February 2020.

What makes this complicated for subscribers is Arrow’s episode of Crisis on Infinite Earths is part four, and incredibly vital to the final arc of Oliver Queen’s story. Taking into consideration the other three CW shows won’t be scheduled to arrive until months later, and Batwoman isn’t even on Netflix, subscribers may become incredibly confused watching the final season of Arrow without context from the other series. So despite Arrow being available months before The Flash, Supergirl and DC Legends, we’d recommend to subscribers to hold off watching the final season of Arrow until May or June 2020.

Legends of Tomorrow: Season 5

Netflix Release Date: May/June 2020

The last of the crossover, and technically the ‘first’ episode of season 5, Legends of Tomorrow also won’t be available to subscribers until May or June 2020.

To try and wrap the complicated situation up if you want to watch the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline on Netflix, you will have to wait months until after the crossover event has concluded:
