Netflix has 20 movies in Letterboxd’s One Million Watched Club rankings, ranging from some of the streamer’s earliest breakthroughs, like The Kissing Booth (2018) and Bird Box (2018), to more recent hits like People We Meet on Vacation (2026).
Letterboxd was initially created way back in 2011, but in recent years particularly, the movie and TV cataloging platform has become one of the premier destinations for cinephiles to connect, log, and review movies and TV shows. The platform is home to some huge names in the entertainment industry, with everyone from Martin Scorsese to Ed Sheeran frequently logging their favorites. The latest numbers suggest that in 2026, the platform has over 26 million users.
Thanks to its popularity, Netflix has even been reportedly interested in buying Letterboxd for itself. The company has a floating valuation of $250 million. Outside of Netflix, there are other suitors vying to snap the platform up as well, with other companies including Sony Pictures and Paramount.
Whether any big company snaps up Letterboxd is one thing, but Netflix undeniably has a heavy influence on the platform, boasting 20 Netflix Original movies in its popular One Million Watched Club, which currently comprises over 800 movies that have been marked as seen by at least 1,000,000 Letterboxd members.
Which Netflix movies feature in the One Million Watched Club? We’ve listed all of them below, in order of release.
The Kissing Booth (2018)
Based on the early Wattpad sensation by Beth Reekles, The Kissing Booth became one of Netflix’s most successful early movie adaptations. A quintessential American high-school teen romance, the movie drew a major audience, and despite being critically panned, it was popular enough to spawn two sequels, ultimately completing a trilogy. The original movie is one of the lowest-rated pictures in Letterboxd’s One Million Watched Club, scoring a mere 1.8/5 rating on the platform.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018)
Back in 2018, actress Lana Condor was on a major winning streak after notably starring as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). She made her Netflix debut in 2019 with romance To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, a film that spawned two sequels: To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020), and To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021). She even went on to reprise the role with a multi-episode guest appearance in XO, Kitty Season 3 earlier this year.
Bird Box (2018)
Up until 2026, Bird Box was on Netflix’s all-time Top 10 movies rankings — a long time to be listed for a movie that released back in 2018. Based on the best-selling novel, Bird Box sets the scene in a post-apocalyptic world, where an unseen entity compels people to commit suicide. Naturally, in a move for survival, people mask their faces. The story follows Malorie, who’s determined to protect two children. While completely blindfolded, they traverse the post-apocalyptic lands, ultimately attaching themselves to a ragtag group of survivors. It’s a story of survival, hope, and determination. The film did see a sequel, Bird Box Barcelona (2023), although by that time the hype had died down significantly.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
Breaking Bad is regarded as one of the greatest TV series of all time, so when Netflix and creator Vince Gilligan collaborated to create a sequel movie El Camino in 2019, it was always going to be a major hit. The film chronicles what happens to Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) after he bursts out of his captors’ facility driving an El Camino at the end of the series. The movie has a modest 3.6/5 rating on Letterboxd.
The Irishman (2019)
Seminal filmmaker Martin Scorsese was one of the most followed Letterboxd users when he joined the platform in 2023, and he even has his Netflix movie The Irishman in the One Million Watched Club. The movie is a true Scorsese epic; the three-hour picture follows truck driver Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro), who finds himself entangled with Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci) and his Pennsylvanian crime family. As the movie progresses, he climbs the ranks and becomes a top hitman, placing a target on his back in the process. It has a 3.9/5 rating on Letterboxd.
Marriage Story (2019)
Director Noah Baumbach has a storied history at Netflix, most recently with Jay Kelly (2025) starring George Clooney. But his most popular Netflix project without a doubt is Marriage Story (2019), headlined by Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. The film follows a stage director and his actor wife who struggle through a gruelling, coast-to-coast divorce. The movie is one of Netflix’s highest-rated on Letterboxd with a rating of 4/5.
The Platform (2020)
Spanish thriller The Platform was a surprise success on Netflix. The film is a metaphorical take on trickle-down economics, taking place on a large prison tower of 300 levels, where food moves down from top to bottom: the people at the top feast, leaving their scraps for those trapped near the bottom to feed on. And every month, inmates are shuffled either to the higher or lower tower. After a successful debut at film festivals before landing on Netflix, it returned for The Platform 3 in 2024.
Enola Holmes (2020)
After Millie Bobby Brown was catapulted to stardom thanks to Stranger Things, she went on to play Sherlock Holmes’ equally intellectual younger sister Enola in a trilogy of movies that wrapped up recently with Enola Holmes 3. Enola Holmes is one of Netflix’s most successful movie trilogies. Alongside Millie Bobby Brown, the movies also star Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury and Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
In 2021, Netflix went all-in on Fear Street. The streamer released 3 movies (each respectively subtitled 1994, 1978, 1966) in the same month. The movies are based on the novels by seminal horror writer R.L. Stine, and set in the fictional town of Shadyside — better known as the murder capital of the United States. All three movies were successful on Netflix, but the first of the trilogy, Fear Street: 1994 is the only one to feature in Letterboxd’s One Million Watched Club.
Tick, Tick… BOOM! (2021)
From acclaimed composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (the man behind Hamilton and In the Heights), Tick, Tick… BOOM! is loosely based on a true story, telling the semi-autobiographical account of the life of composer Jonathan Larson, who went on to compose the Broadway musical Rent. The movie chronicles his life and journey in New York City, from his dreams to love and friendship. Tick, Tick… BOOM! holds 3.9/10 on IMDb.
Don’t Look Up (2021)
From Adam McKay, Don’t Look Up boasts one of the strongest casts ever put together for a Netflix movie; we’re talking Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande, and Cate Blanchett. A black comedy, the movie follows two astronauts who embark on a media tour to warn humanity that the planet is close to destruction from an impending comet. The movie remains Netflix’s fourth most-successful original film ever.
All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)
All Quiet on the Western Front is one of Netflix’s biggest awards darlings ever. Directed by Edward Berger, the movie was nominated for nine Oscars, taking home four: Best International Feature Film, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, and Best Production Design. The adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque’s 1929 novel takes place during World War I, following an idealistic young German soldier on the frontline. His dreams and aspirations, and hopes of heroism, wither and fade as he deals with the intensity and distress of war. It boasts a near-perfect 4.1/10 on IMDb.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
While Rian Johnson’s original Knives Out (2019) features in the One Million Watched Club, the movie was not a Netflix Original production. Rather, the streamer developed two sequels, with the first being Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in 2022. The sequel marked the return of Daniel Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc, and was set on a tech billionaire’s private Greek island. The movie was a hugely successful sequel. On Letterboxd, it holds 3.4/10.
Leave the World Behind (2023)
Another all-star feature at Netflix, Leave the World Behind stars Charlie Evans, Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, and Kevin Bacon. A tense sci-fi, the movie takes place in the wake of a digital blackout on Long Island, where a family is left completely in the dark in the middle of what should be a luxurious vacation. It is an adaptation of the novel by Rumaan Alam. Despite an enigmatic ending, Netflix has no sequel in development. It currently stands as Netflix’s 9th most popular movie ever.
Society of the Snow (2024)
The 2024 movie Society of the Snow is based on the 1972 Andes flight disaster. In the fallout of the crash, 29 of the 45 passengers on board survived. Forced to survive in an unbelievably harsh and uninhabitable environment, the survivors are forced into cannibalism of those who had already died in order to stay alive. To survive longer, they pool together their knowledge and expertise. The movie was nominated for two Academy Awards and currently stands at an incredibly impressive 4.2/5 on Letterboxd.
Carry-On (2024)
When we think of action movies set at Christmastime, Die Hard always comes to mind. In 2024, Netflix attempted to channel a similar energy with Carry-On, a movie following a young airline security guard, Ethan Kopek (played by Taron Egerton), who gets promoted to man an X-ray monitor. However, while working a busy holiday shift, he’s handed an earpiece by a stranger, and blackmailed into allowing an explosive to pass through security. The movie was a huge success at Netflix, boasting 118.2M views, beating Millie Bobby Brown’s fantasy flick Damsel, which had 99.1M views.
KPop Demon Hunters (2025)
There’s not much to say about KPop Demon Hunters that hasn’t already been mentioned. The movie is outright the most successful film in Netflix history, smashing records and existing in a league of its own. The movie follows K-Pop superstars Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong) and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo). When their illustrious careers begin to stall, and they fail to sell out stadiums or top the Billboard charts, they instead go undercover to protect their fans from supernatural dangers, taking on the role of demon hunters.
The fact that Kpop Demon Hunters is listed in Letterboxd’s One Million Watched Club is far from a surprise — we’d be shocked if it wasn’t there.
Frankenstein (2025)

Legendary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro ardently wanted to adapt Mary Shelley’s seminal monster story Frankenstein for many years — and in 2025, it finally happened. His own vision of the story veers slightly from the original novel, but in the best ways possible. The movie stars Oscar Isaac as egotistical scientist Doctor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the Creature. The film scored nine nominations at the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Of all the Frankenstein adaptations, this one stands out as one of the most unique.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025)
All three of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out movies feature in the One Million Watched Club. The most recent addition in the franchise is Wake Up Dead Man (2025), which takes a more gothic turn as Benoit investigates a murder inside a quiet church. The film scores 3.8/5 on Letterboxd.
People We Meet on Vacation (2026)
The most recent Netflix Original addition to Letterboxd’s One Million Watched Club is People We Meet on Vacation, which debuted on Netflix back in January. Directed by Brett Haley, the romantic comedy stars Tom Blyth and Emily Bader as Alex and Poppy, the unlikeliest of friends. They live far apart, but for a decade, they have spent one week of every summer together. The movie had a big start on Netflix, drawing 17.2 million views during its opening weekend and consistently attracting viewers and being marked on Letterboxd. Netflix is not working on a sequel, but author Emily Henry has plenty of other books that Netflix could adapt. Watch this space.
