Welcome along to another look through all the big departures scheduled from Netflix in the United States. Below, you’ll find the most comprehensive guide to everything set to leave the streamer in the US, whether that’s the handful of Netflix Originals leaving, one of the Sony Pictures or Illumination first window movies, or the other licensed titles set to depart.
As always, if you’re wondering why any of the movies and series below are set to leave, the reason is pretty simple. Netflix essentially rents most of its library from other providers. Whether it’s major studios like Sony Pictures, Universal, or Warner Bros, Netflix will only hang onto some of their movies from anywhere from a month up to a few years. This even extends to Netflix Originals, where we’ve seen dozens depart in recent years, and at least four more are scheduled to depart this month.
Note: We typically get word of most removals around 30 days before their departure. We’ll keep this list updated throughout May and into June, with Netflix itself releasing its own smaller list of removal highlights on one of the Wednesdays towards the tail end of May.
