Baki recently returned to our screens with Baki-Dou, kickstarting The Invincible Samurai Arc. With more source material to be adapted, Netflix has confirmed that more Baki-Dou is coming soon.
Baki-Dou is a Japanese Netflix Original anime series, the sequel to Baki-Hanma and the fourth manga series of the franchise written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. TMS Entertainment is the animation studio behind the series, and Netflix is responsible for global distribution.
Netflix has been the home of the Baki franchise for several years now, starting with Baki, followed by the sequel series Baki-Hanma, and now Baki-Dou.
Has Baki-Dou been renewed for season 2?
Official Renewal Status: Renewed (Last Updated: 11/03/2026)
Netflix has confirmed that more Baki-Dou is on the way!
A poster confirming more episodes are on the way was revealed at AnimeJapan 2026.

The series is off to a great start on Netflix, debuting with 3.4 million views, and its second week on the platform dipped to only 3.1 million. The third week saw a 60% decline to 6.8 million hours, equating to 1.2 million completed views.
With over 7.7 million views already, Baki continues to prove itself as a very popular anime for subscribers.
Our experimental prediction tool still indicates strong overall performance for Baki-Dou in the bear case scenario.

How much of the Baki-Dou manga has the anime adapted so far?
So far, the anime has blitzed through the manga, adapting the first 99 chapters (11 volumes) of Baki-Dou. The total number of Baki-Dou chapters is 198 (22 volumes)
With 11 manga volumes remaining, there are many incredible, brutal, and bloody fights to see!

How many episodes can we expect from Baki-Dou season 2?
Since the Baki series was released on Netflix, the episode counts have remained fairly consistent. The majority of seasons feature 13 episodes, with the only two exceptions being Season 1 of Baki Hanma and Season 2 Part 2.
- Baki (Part 1) – 13 episodes.
- Baki (Part 2) – 13 episodes.
- Baki (Part 3) – 13 episodes.
- Baki Hanma (Season 1) – 12 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 2 Part 1) – 13 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 2 Part 2) – 14 episodes.
- Baki-Dou (Season 1) – 13 episodes.
It’s our expectation that Baki-Dou season 2 will feature either 13 or 14 episodes to conclude the Invincible Samurai Arc.
It’s also likely that “season 2” will be listed as “part 2.” This is because the Baki-Dou manga continues with the Sumo Arc.
When will Baki-Dou season 2 be released on Netflix?
Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for Baki-Dou, and all we know so far is that more episodes are “coming soon.”
For Baki and Baki Hanma, there were two-year gaps between the first and second seasons. Let’s hope the wait won’t be as long for season 2, but given the release schedules of the previous seasons, this suggests fans could be waiting until 2028 for more Baki-Dou.
However, the release date is highly dependent on where TMS Entertainment is in production on the series. Assuming the studio is already hard at work, we could see more Baki-Dou on Netflix in 2027.
For now, we await further updates from Netflix.
Will Baki continue with the Sumo Arc and Baki Rahen?
So long as the franchise continues to perform well on Netflix, then we can’t foresee the anime stopping with the Invincible Samurai Arc.
There’s a lot more source material to be adapted, including the 17 volumes of the Sumo Arc, and the sixth Baki story, Baki Rahen, which began its serialization in Weekly Shōnen Champion in August 2023, and is still ongoing at the time of writing.
