In 2018, the Hindi Netflix Original anthology movie Lust Stories earned International Emmy nominations for Best TV Movie or Miniseries and Best Actress for Radhika Apte. No surprise, then, when the anthology returned for a second time in 2023 and now a third round in 2026.
Each edition of Lust Stories features four short films by four different directors, with every story built around the theme of lust. With an average runtime of around 40 minutes, the shortened format accommodates the busy schedules of A-list directors and actors, making Netflix Indian Original anthologies a great way to introduce yourself to some top-tier creative talent.

What is the plot of Lust Stories 3?

Who are the directors and stars of Lust Stories 3?
Vikramaditya Motwane‘s short film is a who’s who of Netflix Original regulars. Motwane himself has four Original credits to his name as director of the movies AK vs AK and CTRL and creator & director of the series Sacred Games and Black Warrant. Stars Radhika Apte (Raat Akeli Hai) and Vijay Varma (Darlings) have appeared in more Netflix Indian Originals than any other actors. Konkona Sen Sharma has not only acted in four Netflix Indian Originals (including the hit film Accused), but she directed a segment in Lust Stories 2. Abhishek Banerjee (Toaster) has four Netflix Original credits of his own.
Kiran Rao (Laapataa Ladies) has an eye for emerging acting talent, so she cast newcomer Sana Thampi opposite Gurfateh Pirzada (Class) for her segment.
Shakun Batra‘s (Kapoor & Sons) short film stars Radhikka Madan (Feels Like Ishq) and Ali Fazal (Khufiya), who said: “This story explores love, desire and vulnerability in a very real way.”
Vishal Bhardwaj (Khufiya) cast real-life married couple Aditi Rao Hydari (Heeramandi) and Siddharth (Operation Safed Sagar) for his segment. Bhardwaj says of his story:
What fascinates me about desire is how deeply it is connected to imagination – to the stories we tell ourselves, and sometimes the stories we are afraid to tell out loud. I was drawn to the idea of exploring that space through a character finding her own voice and discovering what happens when that voice reaches beyond her. There’s humour, mischief and emotion in that journey, but also questions about identity, expression and who gets to tell stories about desire. That made this a particularly exciting story for me to explore.
Lust Stories 3 has a runtime of 2 hours 44 minutes and a TV-MA rating in the US for sex, language, and smoking. The Hindi film has dubbed dialogue options in English, French, Hindi audio description, Indonesian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America & Spain), Tamil, Telugu, and Thai. Subtitles are available in 34 languages.
