One of the many Netflix Original stand-up showcase series is coming back for a second season. The Degenerates, which premiered back in October 2018, is set to get a second season releasing on Netflix globally on December 31st, 2019.

Netflix has given comedians big and small the spotlight as one of the biggest buyers and producers of stand-up specials in recent years. For lesser-known comedians, it often compiles them into collections. COMEDIANS of the World is the biggest example that sees 48 comedians around the world perform. Just recently too, Zona Rosa dropped on Netflix which includes comedians from the LGBT community in Spain.

Season 1 of The Degenerates first premiered on Netflix on October 30th, 2018. Six episodes in total released featuring comedy talents such as Big Jay Oakerson, Brad Williams, Yamaneika Saunders, Liza Treyger, Joey Diaz and Christina Pazsitzky.

The idea behind this collection is that the comedians feature plenty of edgy material and therefore, is only suited for mature audiences.

The interrobang first reported that The Degenerates is getting a second season back in August 2019. They spotted the announcement of the filming date which occurred on September 12th.

The first names for the second season of The Degenerates include Adrienne Lapalucci, Donnell Rawlings, Ms. Pat, Nikki Glaser and Robert Kelly with more also teased in an Instagram post. It was also then confirmed that Jim Norton would also feature in season 2 of The Degenerates.

Filming took place in Las Vegas for the second season.

Season 2 is now set for release on Netflix for December 31st, 2019. That’s on New Year’s Eve in case you didn’t notice so you can bring in the new year if you so wish by laughing your ass off.

Netflix announced the release date as part of the December 2019 Netflix release dates with a special Tweet going out on its Netflix is a Joke account.
