In February 2027, Netflix will release the highly anticipated remake of The One Piece anime. Revealed at Annacey 2026 Film Festival is brand new episodic art for the very first episode of The One Piece remake.
The One Piece was first announced over two and a half years ago at Jump Festa ’24, and fans have been waiting patiently for the release of the anime ever since. Announced to be coming to Netflix in February 2027, there are only 8 months to go before the anime is available to stream globally.
Behind the anime remake is WIT Studio, which is famous for producing anime such as Attack on Titan, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga. Directing the series is Masashi Koizuka, who is assisted by Hideaki Abe. Character designs and Chief Animation Directors are Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda.
At Annecy 2026 International Animation Film Festival, an episodic poster for the first episode was revealed, giving us our first look at the re-animated Luffy, as he sets sail on his adventure to become the King of the Pirates.

We also have confirmation that the first season of The One Piece remake will consist of 7 episodes, ending with the Baratie Arc, where Luffy encounters Sanji. The total runtime for the seven episodes has been confirmed to be 300 minutes (5 hours).
More episodes will be released at a later date, as it has been confirmed that the entire East Blue Arc will be adapted in the remake.
