Grab your crossbows, Walking Dead fans. The European adventures of Daryl and Carol are continuing on Netflix much sooner than expected. We’ve just learned that the relatively recent penultimate third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is officially coming to Netflix US on July 19th.
Starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, the hit spin-off has been one of the crown jewels of AMC’s expanding undead universe. While the first two seasons saw our fan-favorite duo battling their way through the ruins of France, season 3 changes the scenery entirely, moving the post-apocalyptic action over to Spain [1] as Daryl and Carol continue their desperate quest to find a way back home to the United States.
If you’ve been following our coverage closely, this rapid turnaround might come as a pleasant surprise. We previously reported on how season 2 (subtitled The Book of Carol) landed its Netflix release date right as season 3 was in the midst of its AMC run. Now, the window between AMC broadcast and Netflix streaming appears to be shrinking even further.
This is all thanks to the incredibly fruitful, ongoing licensing partnership between AMC Networks and Netflix. Following the massive success of their initial batch of licensed titles, the relationship has only deepened. As we outlined in our massive guide to AMC shows on Netflix, this deal has been a game-changer for subscribers, transforming Netflix into the ultimate catch-up destination to get invested in the network’s programming, but quite a few of their titles have now left, although shows like Dark Winds and this one are getting regular updates.
Is season 3 the final season of Daryl Dixon?
If you’re worried about reaching the end of season 3 and having no more story left to tell, we have some good news and some bad news.
The good news is that season 3 is not the end. AMC officially renewed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for a fourth season back in July 2025 at San Diego Comic-Con.
The bittersweet news is that season 4 has been confirmed to be the show’s fourth and final season. Norman Reedus and the crew recently wrapped production on the final episodes in June 2026, marking an emotional end to his 16-year run playing the iconic, crossbow-wielding survivor. While an exact premiere date for season 4 on AMC hasn’t been set just yet (it’s expected later this year), binging season 3 on Netflix this July is the perfect way to prepare for Daryl and Carol’s impending endgame.
Is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 coming to Netflix internationally?
As is standard with almost all of the recent AMC additions, this July 19th release date currently applies exclusively to Netflix US.
Streaming rights for The Walking Dead universe are notoriously complex and highly fragmented outside of the United States. In regions like the UK, Australia, and parts of Europe, the spin-offs are often locked into exclusive deals with local broadcasters or alternative streaming platforms (like Sky/NOW in the UK or Stan in Australia). While we never say never, international subscribers shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for this one to appear on their local Netflix hub anytime soon.
