Welcome back to your Netflix top 10 report for the week ending September 28th, where we’ve once again got a lot to cover. It was a busy week last week for new arrivals, so let’s check in to see how well the three major series that dropped last week: Wayward, House of Guinness, and Alice in Borderland S3 performed, as well as other titles like Ruth & Boaz and more.
Note: All the data used below is sourced from Netflix’s top 10 page, which updates weekly with the top 40 most-watched titles globally for that week, ranked by views. The data used below covers the period from September 22nd to September 28th, 2025. We’ll be using the views metric in comparisons below. That metric is calculated by dividing the hours watched by the runtime. This metric enables more accurate comparisons between films and series, but it’s not a direct audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last second of the film or season.
Non-English Film: 36,000,000 (Rank 54 of 119 weeks)
Also, before we get into it, the only shift in the all-time list is Wednesday season 2 jumping from the eighth most-watched of all time to the seventh, pushing down Bridgerton season 3. As we’ve previously reported, it’s likely going to end up around the #4 slot by the time the show’s qualifying 91-day run for both parts concludes.
1. Wayward
Picture: Netflix
The Canadian-produced series Wayward ultimately took top spot on the Netflix English TV charts with 8.2M views (48,800,000 hours) edging out Black Rabbit by 1.2M views for the top spot. Where does that put it in terms of performance against other limited series over the past year? Around the middle of the pack, above the likes of Painkiller and last week’s Black Rabbit, but far below Zero Day and The Perfect Couple.

2. House of Guinness
The worry when you launch three massive series all at the same time is that inevitably, one struggles to breathe, and that certainly looks like the case with House of Guinness, which debuted at #3 in the English language chart behind Wayward (see above) and Black Rabbit, now into its second week. That series is definitely looking for a renewal, given its ending, and it’s going to need to pick up the pace if it’s going to get it. Compared against a number of other British shows and a few 2025 releases, you can see it’s already in the danger zone, but it is comfortably ahead of KAOS in week 1.

3. Alice in Borderland S3
There was a big question as to whether audiences would stick around for Alice in Borderland, which finally returned after a nearly three-year wait. The answer is categorically yes, with season 3 debuting much higher than prior seasons in its first week. Worth noting that season 1 didn’t gain traction until week 2, however.
Correction (10/01): These graphs previously included season 1 numbers, which weren’t reflective of the launch. They have been removed.

We should also note that earlier seasons of Alice in Borderland actually received a substantial boost in the first half of this year, as evidenced by the Netflix Engagement Report, which jumped from 3.2M and 2.4M views to 10.6M and 7.8M for seasons 1 and 2, respectively, between H2 2024 and H1 2025.

4. Week 2 for Haunted Hotel, Black Rabbit, and Billionaire’s Bunker
Next, it’s time to revisit some of the main titles we covered last week to check in and see how well they’re doing.
Beginning with Haunted Hotel, which got a late Friday renewal (although whether it was an upfront order or an actual renewal remains to be seen), it looks like Netflix’s trust in the series has been rewarded in week 2. It’s now tracking just a little shy ofBlue Eye Samurai, which is a pretty good run for a brand-new adult animation series without any established IP to help it. Not to mention it’s in the comedy genre, which has been struggling tremendously in recent years.

Next up, Black Rabbit, the big series with Jude Law and Jason Bateman – did it gain traction in week 2? Simply put. Not really. It gained around 6% in viewing hours and will likely begin dropping dramatically. If you stack that up against other limited series in their first two weeks, you’ll see it tracks nearly bottom of the bunch.

Billionaires’ Bunker received a significant boost in week 2, over doubling its view count from 3.7M views in week 1 to 10.3M views in week 2. That makes it a prime candidate for renewal in our opinion, given it’s now topped many of the other renewals from Spain but is notably still quite considerably behind Berlin.

5. Tyler Perry is back again with Ruth & Boaz
Tyler Perry’s first faith movie dropped last week with 10.3M views in its opening week, and although he only produced, if we stack up against his other works, we can see it OK, but nothing fantastic, ranking below The Six Triple Eight but notably above A Jazzman’s Blues and Fatal Seduction.

6. Two Other Major Movie Releases: French Lover and Mantis
It was a particularly busy week, with two other major Friday movie releases from around the globe: French Lover, debuting from France (starring Omar Sy), and Mantis, a South Korean action thriller spinoff ofKill Boksoon.
Starting with French Lover, a rather slim selection to compare against, given the major of French movie releases are action-focused, but with 8.1M views, that slots it between The Wages of Fear and Squad 36. Decent.

7. My Life With The Walter Boys
A few weeks back, we noted how My Life with the Walter Boys season 2 was effectively on par with the first season, but that’s no longer the case as viewership begins to level off more rapidly than that of the first season, as demonstrated by the chart below as of week 5:

Before we leave you, just a quick nod to KPop Demon Hunters, which just strayed below 20 million views in week 14. A truly incredible run with plenty more legs throughout the remainder of 2025 and perhaps even into 2026, and we cataloged its entire run here.
Those are our big stories from the Netflix top 10s this week – what are yours? Let us know in the comments down below.
