Worst Neighbour Ever

Worst Neighbour Ever

Coming to Netflix: July 1 | Distribution: Netflix Original

Created by Cynthia Childs and produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions (M3GAN, Insidious), new 4-part true crime series Worst Neighbour Ever is exactly what the title suggests: it explores and deconstructs terrifying stories of nightmare neighbours, breaking them down through firsthand interviews, police body-cam footage, and dramatic, sometimes animated reenactments.

Of course, the ‘Worst Ever’ series has a rich history on Netflix. It began in 2022 with Worst Roommate Ever and continued with another season in 2024.

Little House on the Prairie

Little House On The Prarie Netflix Series

Coming to Netflix: July 9 | Distribution: Netflix Original

Almost certainly the most anticipated Netflix release of the summer, Little House on the Prairie is an all-new adaptation of the seminal novels by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It follows the lives of the Ingalls family, who live on a farm in Minnesota during late nineteenth-century America, chronicling their trials and tribulations during the harsh realities of frontier life. Of course, this is the second major adaptation of the novels, with the original series running for 9-seasons from the 70s into the 80s.

“I always like to say that this show is a love story about a family. They’re a family you want to be with, you want to know, you want to spend time with,” showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine told Netflix Tudum. “That’s really at the core of what Little House on the Prairie is about: a family that is there for each other, tells stories to each other, tells stories about themselves.”

The adaptation is headlined by Alice Halsey as Laura, Luke Bracey as Charles, and Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline

The Tick (Seasons 1-2)

The Tick Reboot Licensed To Netflix

Coming to Netflix: July 15 | Distribution: Licensed by Netflix

Peter Serafinowicz is regarded for some big franchise roles throughout his career, not least voicing Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Supernova in Guardians of the Galaxy. In 2016, he took on a role in the live-action remake of The Tick, a beloved hero created in comics by Ben Edlund, then brought to the spotlight in the 3-season cartoon in the ’90s, followed by the classic 2001 sitcom. All things considered, the 2016 live-action The Tick series is the best adaptation.

The Tick only lasted two seasons (totalling 22 episodes) before cancellation, but it garnered high ratings and remains well-regarded today. For those unacquainted, The Tick is a superhero satire following the adventures of our nigh-invulnerable, muscular, blue Tick, and his mission to thwart enemies in The City through his, albeit, odd sense of justice. Of course, he’s rarely seen without his loyal companion, Arthur (Griffin Newman). The series pokes fun at comic tropes and archetypes at every turn.

The Hawk

Coming to Netflix: July 16 | Distribution: Netflix Original

One of the biggest new Netflix Originals of the summer, The Hawk stars Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Elf) as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, the top golfer of 2004. However, nowadays, he’s in the twilight of his career, unable to rekindle the magic of his former years of glory. But that’s not going to stop him. He puts aside a peaceful retirement and decides to chase one final major, even if it means dragging everyone he loves into the chaos.

Netflix is pulling out all the stops for The Hawk, including an official bus tour that stops in New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

The 10-episode series is created by Ferrell, Harper Steele and Chris Henchy. Alongside Ferrell, the series also stars Molly Shannon (Superstar, Balls Up), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal), and Fortune Feimster (Zootopia 2, FUBAR).

The East Palace

Coming to Netflix: July 17 | Distribution: Netflix Original

Netflix has a distinguished history with K-dramas; look no further than Squid Game, and the list goes on. Up next is The East Palace, a lush dark fantasy drama with supernatural elements. The 8-episode series stars Cha Seung Woo, Nam Joo Hyuk, and Roh Yoon Seo. The series follows a ghost slayer and a palace maid, who team up to rid the East Palace of ghosts and other supernatural entities, and unravel its dark secrets in the process.

The official synopsis reads: “The East Palace is the story of Gu-cheon, who can traverse the world of ghosts, and Saeng-gang, a court lady with a secret, as they answer the summons of the King to unearth the cursed palace’s secrets. Written by Kwon So-ra and Seo Jea-won (Bulgasal: Immortal Souls) and directed by Choi Jung-kyu (The Devil Judge), the series presents a thrilling tale crafted by these genre masters and brought to life by a stellar cast, including Nam Joo-hyuk (Twenty Five Twenty One), Roh Yoon-seo (Crash Course in Romance) and Cho Seung-woo (Stranger).”

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (Season 3)

The Walking Daryl Dixon Season 3 Sets Netflix Release

Coming to Netflix: July 19 | Distribution: Licensed by Netflix

Later this year, The Walking Dead sequel spinoff Daryl Dixon reaches its conclusion with its fourth season. For fans who haven’t caught up yet, Netflix has picked up Season 3. The season continues the adventures of titular Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) after they flee France and find themselves in a desolate London, seemingly ruled by a quirky Brit played by Stephen Merchant. After that, they attempt to sail to the United States but crash in Spain, where they find themselves entangled in a new community.

Season 3 is arguably the best of the spinoff yet, taking on Spaghetti Western vibes — especially in highly-rated episode 5, ‘Limbo,’ when Daryl rides into the desert. It’s not quite Clint Eastwood’s level of cool, but not far off.

The fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is expected to air on AMC later this year.

Coming to Netflix: July 23 | Distribution: Netflix Original

This summer, we return to Texas Hill Country for more adventures and romance in Ransom Canyon Season 2. The western, based on the Jodi Thomas book series, debuted on Netflix in 2025 and spent four weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 for English-language shows. Despite a modest performance compared to the shows around it, Ransom Canyon was ultimately renewed. Netflix wasted no time in throwing the series back into production for a return just over a year later.

“Season 1 was fighting these outside forces that were coming in and threatening a way of life,” creator April Blair told Netflix. “Season 2 is really about community, rebuilding in the wake of that, and coming together. There’s definitely a lightness and hopefulness in Season 2.”

The official Netflix synopsis for Season 2 reads: “Season 2 picks up six months after the events of the first season, with rancher Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) fighting to reclaim his legacy after being unseated as trustee of his family’s Double K Ranch, while musician Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly) must decide if her heart truly belongs in the small town she once tried to outrun or in the fast-paced world of New York City. Are they star-crossed lovers, or fated to be together? In Ransom Canyon, true love stories are messy, complicated, and always worth the wait.”

Hannibal (Seasons 1-3)

Hannibal Series

Coming to Netflix: July 27 | Distribution: Licensed by Netflix

Starring Mads Mikkelsen as the titular, cannibalistic psychiatrist Doctor Hannibal Lecter, the 2013 series Hannibal was one of the highest-rated series of the 2010s. In fact, it still maintains a near-perfect 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Inspired by Thomas Harris’ novels, the series departs from the classic film canon (where Anthony Hopkins played Hannibal). It reimagines the Hannibal Lecter mythos. It’s a psychological deep-dive into the mind of criminal profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), who forms a partnership with psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter — unaware of his cannibalistic traits.

Unable to sustain high viewership, Hannibal was ultimately cancelled after three seasons. The show still ended on a high note, with its series finale, ‘The Wrath of the Lamb,’ being the second-highest-rated episode of the entire series on IMDb, with 9.7/10. The series was previously added to Netflix in June 2020, where it saw a huge bump in viewership, before eventually leaving. With the series returning, will we see another jump in viewership?
