Worst Neighbour Ever

Netflix doesn’t have a huge slate of documentaries coming our way in July 2026, but there are some big ones nevertheless, from a series depicting the worst neighbours of all time to explorations of international disasters.

Ranging from one of the worst naval incidents of the century to an aviation disaster, Netflix explores some big topics in its lineup of July 2026 documentaries. The streamer also dives into more personal and high-stakes tales of terror, including a detailed look at nightmare neighbours in Worst Neighbour Ever

Worst Neighbour Ever

Coming to Netflix: July 1

After the huge success of docu-series Worst Roommate Ever in 2022 and its second season in 2024, showrunner Cynthia Childs returns with a new 4-part series in the same vein, except this time she explores and unpacks true cases of the world’s worst neighbours, ranging from heinous fraud schemes to senseless acts of violent retribution.

The series deconstructs its worst-neighbour cases through firsthand interviews with those involved, police body-cam footage, and dramatic reenactments. It’s produced by Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum, whose filmography includes everything from M3GAN to The Purge. “If you want to appreciate your neighbor, watch just how bad it can be,” Blum teased on Instagram

Miguel Ángel Blanco: The 48 Hours that Changed Spain

Coming to Netflix: July 10

In 1997, the Basque separatist group ETA kidnapped Spanish councillor Miguel Ángel Blanco, who was 29 years old at the time. Blanco was the councillor of Ermua, a town in Biscay, and his kidnapping saw the beginning of a 48-hour hostage situation where ETA threatened to kill him unless the Spanish government transferred all ETA prisoners to prisons in the Basque Country. After the 48-hour deadline was up, Blanco was shot in the back of the head. The situation caused immense outrage across the nation, turning fear into collective resistance. It shaped  Spain’s fight against ETA terrorism.

This documentary marks the 29th-anniversary of Blanco’s death — the exact age he was murdered. It features up to 30 testimonies, including those who were significant public figures at the time. It is the most in-depth exploration of the case to date.

A Toxic Love Story

The official Netflix description reads: “In a glamorous California suburb, a young woman’s arrest for a violent fantasy plot against her ex-boyfriend’s new wife becomes a sensational scandal, but the truth remains hidden behind a sophisticated web of deception. As the investigation peels back layers of betrayal, it becomes unclear who is the true victim and who is the villain in a game where everyone is playing a part.”
