Summer is upon us, and we’re here to walk you through all the biggest upcoming Netflix Original titles that have been confirmed for release thus far. We’ll be covering each month’s new releases in more depth further down the line, but until then, here’s our picks of the Netflix Originals that should be on your radar for June, July, and into August 2025.

Before we dive into the biggest new releases coming up this Summer, a reminder: you can now see all the May 2025 releases here. We also have your complete list of other 2025 arrivals still to come and 2026 release schedules in the provided links.

Note: We’ll update this again in June 2025 as soon as we get more dates for June, July, and August! All release dates are subject to change.

Ginny & Georgia (Season 3)

One of the many shows we’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to return is fan-favorite Ginny & Georgia (which is also renewed for a fourth season and entering production later this year!), which returns for 10 brand new episodes early in June. Of course, we’ve known about this release date for a while, which has helped soften the wait somewhat.

All your favorites are back with the season going into answer all our burning questions from season 2. Georgia has just been arrested for murder—right in the middle of her wedding—shattering her fairy tale ending and throwing the spotlight on the Millers like never before.

Returning two years after it initially aired, the Swedish drama series stars Alva Bratt, Tea Stjärne, Sarah Gustafsson, Tindra Monsen, and Sandra Zubovic. In the new season, we’ll be jumping from 1995 to the year 2000 as Lollo reunites with her friends—now restless and craving excitement—who, despite promises to stop stealing, set their sights on the lucrative art world in a bold new scheme.

Straw

Straw New On Netflix Summer 2025

Picture: Netflix

It’s going to be a busy Summer for Tyler Perry fans on Netflix with not one, not two, but three projects coming up, and that’s not even all that’s still to come this year either. While others feel like familiar territory, like the dramedy series She The People set to release in two parts beginning in May, or Madea’s Destination Wedding, coming up in July, Straw feels like a very fresh new project from the prolific creator.

The new drama thriller headlined by Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, and Teyana Taylor follows a single mother who’s struggling with everything that life has thrown at her thus far, and continues to, with her situation beginning to look desperate.

FUBAR (Season 2)

Fubar Season 2 Summer 2025

Quietly announced by Netflix in early April, FUBAR will be back for its second (and probably final) season with the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger and newcomer Carrie-Anne Moss. The action-comedy sees the beloved action star return to his role as Luke Brenner.

Here’s what you can expect going into season 2: “After his last mission in saving another operative, who just so happened to be his daughter, he’s back and face to face with new villains. This one is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world…if she doesn’t destroy his life first.”

June 19th

The Waterfront

The Waterfront Netflix First Look

Here’s a definite one to watch. Putting together an impressive ensemble cast, The Waterfront is a good mix of several shows that have dominated in recent years. Combining the best bits from OzarkYellowstoneSuccession, Dawson’s Creek, and a dash of Outer Banks, you’ve got a potential winner on your hands. Led by Mindhunter star Holt McCallany, the series is set in coastal North Carolina and inspired by true events. It follows the powerful but crumbling Buckley family as they fight to save their fishing empire and legacy through betrayal, addiction, and risky choices, in an eight-episode drama from showrunner Kevin Williamson.

Also on the cast roster for The Waterfront includes Maria Bello, Jake Weary, Melissa Benoist, Rafael L. Silva, Humberly González, with some of the guest stars including Topher Grace, Dave Annable, Michael Gaston, Gerardo Celasco, and Zach Roerig.

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS

Kpop Demon Hunters

One of the biggest new animated features coming up in 2025 has set a June 2025 release, and from the first looks, it looks like it could be a winner, albeit it may struggle to break through to the mainstream. Originally due out much later in the year, the new movie comes from the same animation studio as Mitchells vs. The Machines and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse, with Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans directing.

“When they aren’t selling out stadiums, K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey,” reads the synopsis, continuing, “use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.”

Squid Game (Season 3)

Squid Game 3Lee Jung Jae As Sung Gi Hun

Squid Game 3 – Lee Jung-jae as Sung Gi-hun

What more can we say about Squid Game at this point? Netflix’s biggest show in history returned over the Christmas period. It will now be back to close out the main story (before the universe expands anyway!) with Sung Gi-hun continuing to play through the second round of games. Through various leaks and interviews we’ve read thus far, we can tell you this is going to be a bumper season full of unexpected twists and turns.

July 2nd

The Old Guard 2

The Old Guard 2

The Old Guard 2 (L-R) Henry Golding as Tuah, Luca Marinelli as Nicky, Marwan Kenzari as Joe, Charlize Theron as Andy and KiKi Layne as Nile in The Old Guard 2. Cr. Eli Joshua Ade/Netflix © 2025

With The Old Guard 2, it closes out the MIA status of three movies we’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to release after they initially completed production. Rebel Ridge finally surfaced late last year and was utterly fantastic, and more recently, Gareth Evans’ Havoc stormed the Netflix charts and, by most accounts, is also pretty good. Can the long-awaited sequel to the Charlize Theron sci-fi action movie that first dropped in the Summer of 2020 round out the trio? We hope so!

July 3rd & 24th

The Sandman (Season 2)

The Sandman Season 2

Picture: Netflix

We’ve been reporting for quite some time that The Sandman would be making a big return this July, and that’s come true – with a slight twist. Like so many other final seasons, The Sandman will be released in two halves. It’s been a long wait for the return of this DC series, which unfortunately has a cloud hanging over it due to ongoing allegations against the comic’s creator and executive producer, Neil Gaiman. Returning with a huge cast and lots of surprises, the show will adapt all the remaining Sandman comics.

Volume 1 premieres on July 3, 2025, with the first six episodes, while Volume 2 premieres two weeks later, on July 17, 2025, with the final five episodes.

Brick

Brick

We’ve been beating the drum for Brick for quite some time, and it looks like it will continue Netflix Germany’s already impressive 2025 slate lineup. Cassandra is our favorite so far, but Brick could surpass it or come in a very close second based on what we’ve seen so far. Headlined by Matthias Schweighöfer and Ruby O. Fee, the sci-fi thriller from writer-director Philip Koch features a couple who become trapped when a mysterious brick wall suddenly surrounds their building and must work with their neighbors to find a way out. It has a similar feel to The Platform so far; we’ll see how it performs once it drops.

July 11th

Madea's Destination Wedding

Madea Destination Wedding Movie Release Date

Picture: Netflix

The second big Tyler Perry movie coming to Netflix this summer will see the writer/director return to one of his most iconic roles, which he has played now over a dozen times, in the form of a new Madea movie, which also is the second time we’ve seen Madea return in a Netflix Original. Here’s what you can expect in this new outing: “Brian and his ex-wife Debrah are shocked to learn their daughter Tiffany is engaged to a rapper she met on a yacht—and the wedding is in two weeks. Madea and her crew head to the Bahamas, stirring up chaos and heartwarming fun.”

July 11th - LIVE

Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano

If you ask most people who tuned in to watch YouTuber Jake Paul take on Mike Tyson last year, many will tell you the entire thing was a farce, but that the actual fight worth following was some of the undercards, with the all-female bout being the best of the bunch. Hearing those praises, Netflix will be back on July 11th at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City to host Katie Taylor going face-to-face with Amanda Serrano.

July 25th

Happy Gilmore 2

How long do you have to wait to give a movie a sequel? It turns out, there doesn’t seem to be a time limit with Happy Gilmore now getting a cameo-filled follow-up, now close to 30 years since the original released, with many familiar faces from the original returning, proving that getting older doesn’t necessarily make you wiser.

Netflix is very much keeping the plot close to its chest. Still, the cast includes (inhales) Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Travis Kelce, John Daly, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Philip Schneider, Blake Clark, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Paige Spiranic.

Netflix has given this new Japanese live-action drama some international press outside of Japan, meaning they believe it could translate well to other audiences. Set over the course of a decade, it follows the romance between two men that began when Ryu Narutaki, a Japanese expatriate, encounters Johan Hwang, a boxer, in a foreign country.

Wednesday (Season 2)

After months of crumbs, we just recently got a full exposé on the second season, which will be split into two parts in August and September. Episodes 1 to 4 will debut in early August, with the remainder of the eight-episode season coming in early September. This season features a host of new faces, and from what we’ve seen thus far, it’s going to be a glorious return to Nevermore.

Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) returns to roam the gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where new enemies and troubles await her. She will have to deal with her family, friends, and old adversaries, dragging her into another year of delightfully dark and eccentric chaos. Armed with her trademark sharp wit and unshakable charm, Wednesday finds herself entangled in a chilling new supernatural mystery.

Fixed

Plot Fixed Netflix Adult Animated Comedy Coming August 2025

It looked bleak for the animated film Fixed in recent years, as the movie was removed from the Sony Pictures slate. However, in April, it was revealed that Netflix had stepped in and rescued the R-rated comedy from Genndy Tartakovsky.

The synopsis for the film reads, “Bull, an average, all-around good dog, who discovers he’s going to be neutered in the morning! As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his best friends, as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong…?”

Thankfully, the wait for catching Sofia Carson in her next rom-com, where she’ll appear alongside Corey Mylchreest, is just around the corner.
