Every Upcoming New and Returning Netflix YA Series in 2026 and 2027

It’s a good time to be a fan of young adult dramas at Netflix. The streamer has a heap of both new and returning favorites in the pipeline, including the return of Finding Her Edge and new shows like Sunshine Girls. Here’s your first look at what’s coming later this year and into 2027.

Whether you love a coming-of-age story, high school drama, complex family dynamics, chaotic love triangles, or a little of everything — Netflix is the place to be. YA dramas have become one of Netflix’s most important divisions. Look no further than the recent success of Crew Girl, which surged to the #2 spot on the Global Top 10 English TV list, pulling in a massive 11.3 million views, and was renewed just a few weeks after it debuted, 

Looking ahead to what’s in store for YA dramas at Netflix both later this year and into 2027, the slate is packed. Here’s our big preview of every YA series coming to Netflix.

The Body

Coming to Netflix: November 11, 2026

After big success with Hulu’s true crime limited drama Under the Bridge in 2024, Quinn Shephard is making her Netflix debut with 8-episode gritty, coming-of-age drama The Body, arriving in November. 

The Body follows a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls — Anya (Kristina Butler), Elise (Sara Boustany), and Lisbeth (Geena Meszaros) — who begin having prophetic visions that set off mass hysteria in their town after a dance-team initiation goes wrong. 

“I’ve always been interested in the idea of girlhood as a religious experience,” Shephard teased in a statement. “This story is definitely my way of putting a playful spin on all the nightmares of my own teenage-dom. Tonally, I would describe the show as gritty camp. It’s a raunchy teen psychodrama with a dash of Catholic horror.”

Geek Girl (Season 2)

Status: Expected in 2026

The wait for Geek Girl Season 2 has been massive. The series first aired back in May 2024, and it wasn’t renewed until 11 months later. Filming on the second season took place in London in 2025. It has since wrapped. Created by Holly Smale and Jessica Ruston, Geek Girl follows awkward teenager Harriet Manners (Emily Carey), who takes an unexpected journey into becoming a professional model in high fashion. 

“I am beyond excited that Geek Girl has been recommissioned for a second season by Netflix,” said Zoë Rocha, who serves as showrunner and RubyRock’s creative director. “The amazing audience reaction to Season One was truly incredible and we can’t wait to bring this next chapter to life. I’m thrilled to be working with Holly and Emily again, and that Boat Rocker has come onboard, to continue to build and expand the fabulous Geek Girl universe. Let’s see what magic Harriet Manners can sprinkle on to the fashion world this time round.”

We estimate that Geek Girl Season 2 will debut in 2026, although Netflix is yet to confirm a release window but time is obviously running out. It could end up airing in early 2027.

Ginny & Georgia (Season 4)

Status: Expected to return in 2027

Ginny & Georgia is officially classified as a YA drama on Netflix, but it draws in a much wider audience for its dark comedy and thrilling elements. The fourth season began filming in September 2025 and officially wrapped in March 2026, paving the way for a release date in 2027.

Looking ahead to the next season, big storylines will include Marcus’ rehab and struggles with mental health, and of course, Georgia is pregnant again — with the big question, who is the dad?

Poser

Status: Expected in 2027

8-episode YA drama Poser comes from creator Lauren Iungerich, who already has a solid track record with genre shows, which includes Awkward and On My Block. Described as a series that explores toxic female friendships through a sexy, emotional thriller, Poser follows two estranged former best friends. When one of them is given a chance to live the life she’s long coveted, and maybe get answers as to why they fell out years ago, she finds herself in a psychological game of revenge, betrayal, and heartbreak — ultimately altering their lives, and those around them forever.

Poser stars Sadie Stanley (Karate Kid: Legends), Daisy Jelley (Geek Girl), and Annie Murphy (Russian Doll).

Sunshine Girls

Status: Coming in December 2026

Created by Rob Fishman and Nuria Anson, Sunshine Girls takes place in the vibrant California suburb of Valley Hills, a location both stunning and sought-after… unless you’re Olivia (Alma Marian), who has lived in New York City her whole life. After her parents break up, she’s forced to re-locate there, and it’s a struggle to say the least. But then she meets new friends: horse girl Taylor (Isabella Fowler) and influencer Riley (Erin Rose Park), who make the transition a little easier. Nevertheless, freshman year comes at them fast, with false starts, first kisses, and family drama. 

Sunshine Girls wrapped filming in April 2026, and it’s confirmed to land on Netflix in December.

My Life With the Walter Boys (Season 4)

Status: In Production

We’re officially returning to Silver Falls in 2027 to catch up on the love triangle between Nikki Rodriguez (Jackie), Noah LaLonde (Cole), and Ashby Gentry (Alex). Production on the upcoming season went underway in summer 2026, and it is expected to wrap around late November. 

There’s plenty in store for the upcoming season, which is expected to focus on the huge cliffhanger involving Cole’s crash as well as Jackie navigating her feelings with Eliot. “Our story’s about love and romance and love triangles and all those teenage trials and tribulations around those things, and we’re not going to divert from those — so much, much more of that to come in Season 4,” showrunner Melanie Halsall teased to Netflix.  

Season 4 is expected to release in mid-2027.

Wednesday (Season 3)

Perhaps the biggest ongoing series currently at Netflix, Wednesday returns for its third season in 2027. In this season, we’re saying au revoir to Nevermore, with the production shifting to Paris. All the main cast are returning alongside Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams, with new additions including Eva Green, Winona Ryder, and Lena Headey. 

The third season began filming back in February 2026 and it still hasn’t wrapped. As a rough estimate, filming is expected to wrap in October 2026.

All of Us Are Dead (Season 2)

When it comes to YA dramas, Korean zombie series All of Us Are Dead sits in a strange position. It’s officially TV-MA rated. However, Netflix officially markets it as a YA series. If one thing is for sure, the series was a major breakout hit when it debuted back in 2022, and the next season has been a long time coming. Season 1 currently stands at 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. When the series released, it surged into Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched non-English series of all time and charted in the Top 10 in over 90 countries.

Netflix has not set a release date for Season 2, but it’s expected to premiere in 2027.

Finding Her Edge (Season 2)

Status: In Production

Based on the best-selling novel by Jennifer Iacopelli, Netflix’s Finding Her Edge is the ultimate love triangle romance — set against the backdrop of competitive ice skating. The series was quickly renewed for another installment at Netflix, which will see the story surpass what was covered in the novel. In other words, we’re in new territory. Notably, the core group of Russo skaters have now moved into the Voltage Training Academy, which is a completely different type of training facility. 

We caught up with showrunner Jeff Norton earlier in September when the new season began production.“It’s great!” Norton exclaimed. “It’s almost like we’ve never left.”

“The cast are wonderful, and I think they’ve really sparked to the scripts this season,” he added. “They have all eight scripts, so they’ve got full visibility of the storyline, and they’re just so excited to dig in.”

We’ll see Jennifer Iacopelli’s sequel novel On Thin Ice in early 2027. We recommend picking that up to get a glimpse of how the show’s second season might play out.

Crew Girl (Season 2)

Status: Active Development

If you liked Finding Her Edge, you’ll love Crew Girl. Both series share very similar DNA. In fact, Finding Her Edge showrunner Jeff Norton helped usher in Crew Girl as an executive producer. This series swaps the ice skates for oars. We follow teenage rowing prodigy Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau), whose whole life is upended by a family scandal. She’s forced to build a new life in a new school, where there is no girls’ rowing team. Instead, she joins the boys’ crew as their coxswain — and does an exceptional job. However, caught in the middle of a highly competitive team of teenage boys, she ultimately finds herself in a fierce love triangle with the arrogant team captain, Josh, and the local boy, Cam, who is the underrated MVP of the team.”

Crew Girl was promptly renewed for another season just a few weeks after its Netflix premiere, where it surged to the #2 spot on the Global Top 10 English TV list, pulling in a massive 11.3 million views.

“I am beyond excited for Crew Girl Season 2!” Miku Martineau said in a statement. “There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team — it’s going to be a ride for sure! Bet (Season 2)

Status: In Production

Before Miku Martineau took to coxswaining in Crew Girl, she made her Netflix debut in teen mystery Bet. She plays Yumeko. A talented, risk-loving transfer student. She arrives in elite private boarding school St. Dominic’s with a quest: the revenge of her parents’ murder. The series serves as a live-action adaptation of the beloved Japanese manga and anime Kakegurui. 

The series was a big success at Netflix on release, spending 3 consecutive weeks in the streamer’s global Top 10 for English-language series, and reaching the Top 10 in 77 countries. Season 2 began filming in Toronto in June 2026 and officially wrapped in August.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (Season 3)

Status: Post-Production

While not a Netflix Original, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is distributed by Netflix internationally. Headlined by Emma Myers, the mystery series is based on the novels by Holly Jackson. The third and final instalment of the series has already completed filming since 2025, being filmed back-to-back with Season 2. It is expected to land on Netflix in 2027. 

Season 3 adapts As Good as Dead, the third and final book by Holly Jackson which takes on a significantly darker and more psychological tone compared to previous seasons.

The Sticks

Status: Post-Production

Set in a small Minnesota town named South Dorothy — quite literally ‘out in the sticks’ — YA drama The Sticks follows grieving widow Harper Sullivan (Michelle Monaghan). An English teacher by trade and a former figure skater. With her husband no longer around, she steps into unprecedented territory as the head coach of the storied high school hockey team, finding herself having to deal with being emotionally involved as well as their coach, dealing with navigating their first loves, volatile locker room dynamics, intense rivalries, and more. The series has already drawn a lot of attention, and not in good ways. 

The series is created by Nick Naveda (Say You Will). The 8-episode series wrapped filming in 2026 and is all set to debut in 2027.

Forever (Season 2)

Status: Post-Production

Filming wrapped on Mara Brock Akil’s YA romance drama Forever in August 2022. The 8-episode series was a certified hit when it debuted in 2025, being described as a love letter to Los Angeles. The series still holds a very impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 

In Season 2, Lovie Simone (Keisha) and Michael Cooper Jr. (Justin) are both back as leads, alongside returning series regulars Wood Harris, Karen Pittman, and Xosha Roquemore. Netflix has not set a release date for the new season, but we would estimate seeing it land on the streamer sometime in Spring or Summer 2027.

Other Netflix YA Series In The Works

• Sid & Zoey – Announced in August 2026, this supernatural YA series is “about Sid, a seductive, sophisticated, and amoral teenager from New York, who is sent to live with a police chief and his family in the idyllic Mississippi town where his mother grew up. The family includes the chief’s sharp-witted, punk-rock daughter, Zoey. Resisting their mutual attraction, Sid and Zoey find themselves drawn into a dark, hidden world beneath the town’s picture-postcard facade — and a supernatural mystery that may well get them killed if they don’t kill each other first.”
• Minimum Wage – Coming October 26, 2026, this mockumentary-style workplace comedy is based on the viral American High Shorts. It follows an overwhelmed group of Gen Z teenagers who struggle to run a chaotic local pizzeria, juggling high school, a manic boss, and minimum wage salaries across 28 fast-paced, bite-sized episodes.
• Camped Out – Currently in production, this 10-episode live-action YA comedy follows three teenage slackers who take jobs as counselors at a financially strapped summer camp to avoid repeating a year of high school. Rather than being good role models, the trio spends their summer doling out terrible survival skills, avoiding actual work, and wreaking havoc on the snobby luxury yacht club across the lake.
• Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 3) – Expected in 2027, the epic live-action adaptation will return for its third and final season, adapting Book 3: Fire. Filmed back-to-back with Season 2, the series remains one of Netflix’s heaviest hitters for young adult audiences and will officially conclude the epic journey.
