‘Dorohedoro’ Season 3 Officially Confirmed by MAPPA: When Will It Be on Netflix?

Thanks to an excellent second season, the six-year wait for the anime’s return was worth it. Fans will be delighted to learn that, with the conclusion of season 2, MAPPA has already confirmed that Dorohedoro will return for a third season. 

Dorohedoro is a licensed Netflix Original dark-fantasy anime series based on the manga of the same name by author Q Hayashida. The series is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and was written by Hiroshi Seko. Studio MAPPA is the studio behind Dorohedoro. 

The first season of Dorohedoro was released in January 2020, and fans had to wait an astonishing 6 years and 3 months for the second season. It was worth the wait, as fans were treated to an excellent new season. What’s even more exciting is that MAPPA has confirmed not only that Dorohedoro has been renewed for a third season, but also that it is already in production!

With the end of the second season, approximately 92 out of the 167 published manga chapters have been adapted by the anime series, which means there’s still plenty more to adapt from the source material for the series.

With the third season already in production, we’re confident fans won’t have to wait until 2026 for the release of season 3. Given the length of time it typically takes to produce a season of anime, we’d expect to see the third season on Netflix sometime in either 2028 or 2029.
