‘Countdown: Canelo vs Crawford’ Documentary to be Released on Netflix in September 2025

Once again, Netflix is going behind the scenes of their next massive boxing match with a brand new Countdown documentary as Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford go head-to-head for the Unified Super Middleweight Championship live and exclusive on Netflix in September. Here’s everything we know so far about the Countdown: Canelo vs Alvarez on Netflix.

Countdown: Canelo vs Crawford is a companion documentary, and the third such documentary Netflix has released after the fights between Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul and Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano. The previous two Countdown docs were directed by Jackie Decker and Tim Mullen, but we’re still waiting for confirmation that the pair also directed the new installment. The documentary will take fans behind the scenes of the training camps of both Canelo Álvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) and Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), who will undergo intense preparation to ensure they temper their minds and body for their in time for their showdown for the Unified Super Middleweight Championship at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas on September 14, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

Countdown: Canelo vs Crawford will be released on Netflix on September 4, 2025.

Netflix has confirmed that it will be a docuseries, however, what remains unclear is the number of episodes that will be released. Previously, Countdown: Paul vs Tyson had three episodes, so it’s likely Countdown: Canelo vs Crawford will follow suit. The runtimes have also yet to be confirmed, but we would expect each episode to have approximate runtimes of 50 minutes.
