It’s official: the gritty Spanish thriller Gangs of Galicia (known locally as Clanes) is returning to Netflix for a third season, but it will officially be its last.

Fans of the hit drug-trafficking drama have a bittersweet update today. Netflix Spain has confirmed that the Vaca Films-produced series is coming back for one final ride, wrapping up the explosive saga of the Galician drug trade. Clara Lago (The Neighbor, Spanish Affair) and Tamar Novas (The Mess You Leave Behind) are officially set to return to their leading roles as Ana and Daniel.

Here is the official announcement video released by Netflix today:

If you need a refresher on where things left off, or just want to know what’s coming next, Netflix has provided an official synopsis for the third and final season. It sounds like the stakes have never been higher for the Padín clan:

“A little over a year has passed, but Ana (Clara Lago) has turned the page and is living a new life as a protected witness, far away from Cambados, alongside her mother and her daughter, Sara. Meanwhile, Daniel (Tamar Novas) has also distanced himself from the world of drug trafficking, attempting to lead an honest life outside of his family’s business. However, his greatest obsession remains finding Ana and Sara.

At the same time, the Padín clan is going through its darkest hour: an Albanian clan is attempting to take over the entire drug drop-off operation, and their ruthless methods are about to shatter the peace in Cambados. With the Padíns backed into a corner, it will be hard to keep their violent business from spilling over and dragging Daniel… and Ana, right back in.”

Season 2 returned in April 2026, following a nearly two-year wait after the first season debuted in June 2024. The first season spent five weeks in Netflix’s global top 10, amassing 74.2 million viewing hours and 13.9 million completed views. Season 2 notably missed out on the Non-English TV top 10 in its first week eligible, but did feature for a single week after picking up 9.9M hours watched and 2.1M views.

Who is behind Gangs of Galicia Season 3?

The final season is once again penned by acclaimed writer Jorge Guerricaechevarría (Sky High, Outlaws), with Ángeles Huerta and Javier Rodríguez stepping into the directors’ chairs.

In addition to Lago and Novas, the returning cast for Season 3 features a stellar lineup of Spanish talent, including:

  • Luis Zahera (The Beasts)
  • Xosé Antonio Touriñán (Cuñados)
  • Melania Cruz (Malencolía)
  • Miguel de Lira (Cuñados)
  • Chechu Salgado (Outlaws)

The series is produced by Vaca Films, the Spanish powerhouse studio behind a number of major Netflix hits, including The Mess You Leave Behind and Sky High: The Series. If you’re a fan of their gritty thrillers, keep an eye out for their upcoming Netflix original series Lobo (Wolf), a highly anticipated true-crime series about Spain’s first documented serial killer, starring Luis Tosar and Tristán Ulloa.

There’s no word yet on an exact release date for the final season, but we’ll be keeping this page updated as soon as we hear more.
