Taking its boldest move into live content, Netflix will exclusively broadcast Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson live from the AT&T Stadium in July 2024.
Netflix has partnered with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and will broadcast the upcoming fight between The Problem Child, aka Jake “El Gallo” Paul (currently 9-1, 6 KOs), the Baddest Man on the Planet, aka Mike Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion (50-6, 44 KOs).
The upcoming fight is Netflix showcasing its efforts to step up its output of live content. Recently, a live Tennis exhibition match, aka The Netflix Slam, saw Rafael Nadal take on world number 2 Carlos Alcaraz at MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas. Not to mention Netflix recently broadcast the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards to great success.
Jake Paul’s bout with Mike Tyson is the first time Netflix will be livestreaming a boxing event.
Jake Paul had the following to say about his upcoming fight;
““It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons,” said Jake Paul. “Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world – a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time. Jake Paul’s career as a boxer has been highly divisive so far. Many of his professional fights have been criticized due to his choice of opponents, often retired athletes and martial artists with minimal professional boxing experience. His first experience against a professional boxer, Tommy Fury, in February 2023, saw Jake Paul take his first professional loss. He has since won three bouts against opponents such as UFC legend Nate Diaz and pro-boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland.

Mike Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion, also shared his thoughts on the fight;
“I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas,” said Mike Tyson. “He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT. It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”

Mike Tyson, now 57 years old, is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers ever. He reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. His last professional fight was almost twenty years ago, in 2005, when he lost to Kevin McBride in the sixth round. His last exhibition bout came over three years ago, when he fought Roy Jones Jr. to a draw in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

When and Where is the Boxing Match?
The home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, the fight will be broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20th globally and exclusively on Netflix.

Is it PPV?
No. You will not need to pay an additional fee to watch the fight live on Netflix.
However, the streaming service has yet to specify if all subscription tiers will have access to the event.

“Mike Tyson is one of the biggest icons in boxing history and Jake Paul is one of the biggest disruptors in boxing history. Saturday, July 20 will be pure drama in the ring in Texas. We are thrilled to partner with Most Valuable Promotions for this historic event and we can’t wait for these two to face off for fans all across the world on Netflix.”
Can I buy a ticket?
As the event is taking place at the AT&T Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000, tickets will be available for purchase. However, you must sign up for the pre-sale if you want a ticket.
What is the Co-Main Event and Undercard?
At the time of writing, Netflix has yet to announce the undercard and co-main event, but they will be revealed later.
