Production is underway on Netflix’s new British Pride and Prejudice adaptation, in addition to the full core and extended cast being unveiled! First revealed back in April by Netflix itself but rumored throughout 2024, the series will consist of six episodes and be a faithful period drama to the acclaimed Jane Austen novel that has seen numerous adaptations over the years.

Behind the new series is Everything I Know About Love creator Dolly Alderton, who was attached to the project early on with Gentleman Jack and Last Tango in Halifax producer Lookout Point behind the project—BAFTA-winning director Euros Lyn to direct all six episodes.

Mona Qureshi, who joined Netflix from the BBC in 2022 and serves as one of Netflix UK’s drama series commissioners, said earlier this year, “We are delighted to be sharing this beloved British classic with our global audience. Pride and Prejudice is the ultimate romantic comedy. Dolly’s fierce intelligence and enormous heart, twinned with her genuine love of the Austen novel, mean she is able to bring new insights, whilst celebrating all that the generations of fans hold so dear. The calibre of a cast led by Emma, Jack, and Olivia is testament to this precious story being in the best possible hands with Euros Lyn and the team at Lookout Point at the helm.”

The Netflix Pride and Prejudice series boasts an impressive behind-the-scenes team, with executive producers including Dolly Alderton, Emma Corrin, Will Johnston, Laura Lankester, Euros Lyn, and Louise Mutter. Lisa Osborne serves as producer, with Peter Nightingale as line producer. The production design is led by Richard Bullock, while Amelia Crook takes on the role of production manager.
