The campy disaster spoof Stop! That! Train! is the latest Bleecker Street movie bound for Netflix, with its SVOD premiere officially set for September 20th, 2026.

Despite a star-studded cast and generally positive reviews from critics who praised its absolute commitment to the bit, the film struggled to find its footing at the box office earlier this summer. Produced on a $12.8 million budget, the comedy became a financial disappointment during its theatrical run, grossing just $4 million worldwide. Now, the potential cult-classic-in-the-making is hoping to find a wider audience on streaming.

The drag-led comedy is making its streaming debut just a few months after its theatrical rollout on June 12th, the latest SVOD debut from Bleecker Street in the United States. While they don’t have a pay-1 window deal like with Universal or Sony Pictures, they have picked up a number of their big swings in recent years following their theatrical and VOD windows. It joins a growing string of recent Bleecker Street additions to the platform, following the likes of Relay, Stone Cold Fox, and The Threesome.

Here is what you need to know about Stop! That! Train! before it arrives on Netflix next month.

What is Stop! That! Train! about?

Directed by Adam Shankman (the filmmaker behind the 2007 movie-musical Hairspray and A Walk to Remember) and written by Christina Friel and Connor Wright, the film serves as a loving spiritual successor to classic absurdity like Airplane!.

The movie follows two recently fired transit stewardesses, Tess and DeeDee, who refuse to give up their lifestyle after their dreary transit line is shut down. To keep the party going, they sneak aboard the ultra-luxurious Glamazonian Express. Once aboard, they immediately clash with the snobby first-class attendants, but petty rivalries are forced to be put on hold when the train ends up on a collision course with a catastrophic weather event dubbed “Stormaganza.” To save the day, the feuding crews in coach and first class must team up with the Commander in Chief himself, President Gagwell.
