The Worst Witch – CBBC/Netflix

The Worst Witch has been coming to Netflix shortly after its finished airing in the United Kingdom on CBBC. The partial Netflix Original is a favorite among the Netflix kids lineup and we finally have the season 3 release date.

Just to recap, The Worst Witch is a British series adaptation of the classic novel series of the same name. It’s not the first adaptation, of course. There’s actually been several now with the most recent being the 2015 series. The series tells the stories of a group of young witches at a school for magic.

The series is a cross-production between three different providers. The CBBC from the UK, ZDF from Germany and Netflix internationally.

What to expect from season 3 of The Worst Witch

As the series has already aired in the United Kingdom (and finished on CBBC back in March 2019) we already know quite a bit about what to expect from season 3.

Once again, 13 episodes make up season 3.

The first episode sees “Mildred enters the Great Wizard’s broomstick-flying contest to win a Wishing Star, but trouble arises when she competes with her new stray dog rather than Tabby.”

The show sees the majority of its cast returning including the likes of Bella Ramsey continuing her role as Mildred Hubble. Bella is obviously mainly known for her spectacular performance in HBO’s Game of Thrones.  Raquel Cassidy, Clare Higgins, Jenny Richardson, and Dagny Rollins also return for season 3.

Debuting this season are Annette Hannah who plays Mabel Tapioca and Kelsey Calladine-Smith as Indigo Moon.

When will season 3 of The Worst Witch be on Netflix?

We were expecting season 3 to arrive sometime in the summer and that’s now been confirmed.

All regions of Netflix is getting The Worst Witch on July 26th, 2019

Netflix UK is also getting The Worst Witch added in July but obviously, doesn’t carry the Netflix Original banner. If you don’t have a Netflix subscription, the BBC iPlayer is still carrying some of the episodes on its platform.
