Jesse Eisenberg’s directorial debut starring Julianne Moore and Finn Wolfhard will be making its streaming service debut in March 2024. It is now included in the March 2024 lineup in the United States, What’s on Netflix can confirm.
Moore and Wolfhard have appeared in big Netflix projects (the former with May December and the latter with Stranger Things) and star as mother and son navigating a contentious relationship with themselves while connecting with others in this A24 title.
The movie debuted at Sundance and in theaters to mostly positive reviews, with the Associated Press saying, “Eisenberg, who has already proven himself to be a talented, unsparing writer, shows promise as a director. He has not made a flashy art film, but it’s a smart, biting, and occasionally sweet character piece.”
It is slightly confusing why the movie is now only shown on a streaming platform now over a year since theatrical debut. Until recently, all A24 movies had been going to Showtime as part of a first window deal, with that window moving to Max in late December 2023. That said, we couldn’t find evidence that it hit Max over the past year, and most outlets still don’t have any accurate information on its streaming availability.
Our friends at WhenToStream.com documented that the movie was made available on PVOD services in January 2023 but hasn’t arrived on a streaming service.
We’re now happy to report that Netflix will be the streaming home for the title at the end of March 2024. Although Netflix didn’t include it in the initial rundown of what’s coming up throughout March 2024, we can confirm When You Finish Saving the World is due to hit Netflix in the US on March 28th.

The news of this A24 movie comes as Netflix has been licensing a slew of A24 titles for the past few months. It began in late 2023 when we saw some older titles from the A24 lineup drop and since then, over a dozen have arrived with new titles monthly. In recent weeks, we saw the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once drop on the service, and more recently, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
