There’s a heap of big Netflix Originals coming our way this summer, and July sees the arrival of some of the most anticipated, including series Little House on the Prairie and long-awaited movie Enola Holmes 3

Summer on Netflix is always an exciting time, and 2026 is no exception. The streamer’s upcoming original slate promised a range of genres. This includes returning streaming blockbusters like Enola Holmes and a fresh take on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic Little House on the Prairie. Plus, there’s the much-anticipated emotional farewell of Heartstopper.

Of course, Netflix has some big licensed pulls for summer viewing as well, including Hollywood smash-hits Spider-Man: Homecoming and Wicked: Part I. Take a look at the complete July 2026 release schedule here. In this post, we’re walking you through the biggest Netflix Originals on the way.

Enola Holmes 3

Coming to Netflix: July 1 | Movie

Millie Bobby Brown returns as Sherlock Holmes’s cunning and witty sister Enola in her third movie. Directed by Philip Barantini and written by Jack Thorne, the threequel takes a somewhat darker turn as Enola heads to Malta to rescue Sherlock (Henry Cavill), who has been kidnapped. The quest puts something of a dampener on her impending wedding to Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge).

The movie also marks the return of popular characters Dr. Watson (Himesh Patel), Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter), and criminal mastermind Mira Troy (Sharon Duncan-Brewster).

Summer ’36

Summer 36 Netflix Release Date Set

Coming to Netflix: July 1 | Series

Created and written by Marie Deshaires and Catherine Touzet, Summer ’36 is a historical drama based on an original idea by Iris Bucher (producer, The Bonfire of Destiny). The 6-part limited series takes place in Nice, France, during the summer of 1936 when workers enjoy their historic first paid holidays. We follow four very different women whose fates become interwoven after the murder of a prosecutor at a Riviera hotel.

The series is already available for Netflix subscribers in certain territories, including France, Belgium, Switzerland, and South Africa. Early ratings praise its 1930s aesthetic and draw strong comparisons to Agatha Christie-style murder mysteries.

Worst Neighbour Ever

Worst Neighbour Ever

Coming to Netflix: July 1 | Documentary Series

Back in 2022, Netflix released chilling documentary series Worst Roommate Ever, which explored and deconstructed terrifying stories of people living together. Now, Cynthia Childs returns with a new 4-part series in the same vain, except this time she takes a look at nightmare neighbours.

It not only documents the true cases, but deeply explores them through firsthand interviews, police body-cam footage, and dramatic reenactments. If you loved Worst Roommate Ever, this is a must-watch documentary in July 2026.

Little House on the Prairie

Little House On The Prairie What To Watch On Netflix This Summer

Coming to Netflix: July 9 | Series

Little House on the Prairie adapts Laura Ingalls Wilder’s seminal, semi-autobiographical novels, focusing on the harsh realities of the Ingalls family during frontier life, as they live and work on a farm in Midwestern America during the late 19th century. The series has seen adaptation before — and it was a big 9-season success — but the latest one aims to bring the story to a new generation.

Netflix’s version of the story comes from creator Rebecca Sonnenshine (Archive 81), and stars Alice Halsey as Laura, Luke Bracey as Charles, and Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline.

Netflix clearly expects the series to be a standout success — the streamer has already renewed it for another season!

Coming to Netflix: July 16 | Series

Hollywood star Will Ferrell (whom needs little introduction) headlines The Hawk as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, the top golfer of 2004. However, nowadays he’s in the twilight of his career and he cannot rekindle the magic of his former years of glory. But that’s not going to stop him. He puts aside a peaceful retirement and decides to chase one final major, even if it means dragging everyone he loves into the chaos.

The Hawk is created by Ferrell, Harper Steele and Chris Henchy. Alongside Ferrell, the series also stars Molly Shannon (Superstar, Balls Up), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal), and Fortune Feimster (Zootopia 2, FUBAR).

Heartstopper Forever

Heartstopper Forever New First Looks (5)

Coming to Netflix: July 17 | Feature-length finale

Heartstopper quickly proved itself one of the most popular shows on Netflix when it began in 2022. Adapting the series of graphic novels by Alice Oseman, it’s a tale of young love, following teens Charlie (Kit Connor) and recently-outed Nick (Joe Locke) as they navigate through school together and realize that their friendship could be something more.

The Heartstopper saga concludes in July with feature-length finale, subtitled Heartstopper Forever. The film has been a long time coming, wrapping up filming almost exactly a year ago. In the finale, Nick prepares to leave for university, but faces the unavoidable truth that he and Charlie must have a long-distance relationship. Meanwhile, Charlie grows in independence at school,  but also grapples with the anxiety of being left behind.

Ransom Canyon (Season 2)

Ransom Canyon Season 2 Wraps Filming

Coming to Netflix: July 23 | Series

Prepare for a return to Texas Hill Country for more adventures in Ransom Canyon Season 2. The romantic western, based on the Jodi Thomas series of books, was a modest performer when it debuted on Netflix in 2025, spending four weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 for English-language shows, and it was ultimately renewed months after release. The streamer wasted no time in throwing the series back into production for a return just over a year later.

“Season 1 was fighting these outside forces that were coming in and threatening a way of life,” creator April Blair told Netflix. “Season 2 is really about community, rebuilding in the wake of that, and coming together. There’s definitely a lightness and hopefulness in Season 2.”

The upcoming season has made a couple of new casting additions, including Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom) and Heidi Engerman (Candyman).

72 Hours

The comedy movie follows a 40-something executive (played by Hart) who finds himself mistakenly added into a group chat, only to be thrown into a chaotic, three-day bachelor party with the group of twenty-somethings. He’s out of his depth, but it’s an opportunity to let loose and embrace the lifestyle. Can he keep up with the Gen Zers?
