It’s a new week, and there’s lots to look forward to on Netflix over the next seven days, so get your binging slippers on and take a gander at everything currently scheduled to drop throughout this week in the US and around the world. Highlights include the zombie movie event of 2025 and a new limited drama series starring Jason Bateman and Jude Law.
Before we dig into our most anticipated titles, a reminder that you can find all the remaining September 2025 releases on Netflix here, and we’ve also got a pretty good idea of some of the biggest titles coming up in October 2025 here.
We should also note there’s a number of high-profile departures scheduled for this week, too, including Jason Bateman’s Bad Words and two Sony Pictures first window movies, including The Persian Version and There’s Something in the Barn.
What to Watch on Netflix This Week
Black Rabbit (Limited Series) Netflix Original
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
If you can believe it, it’s been over three years since Ozark came to an end. Although we got Carry-On late last year, starring Jason Bateman, we’ve been eagerly awaiting his series return. This week, that happens with Black Rabbit. He’ll be appearing alongside Jude Law in this frantic and dark crime drama that follows the owner of a New York City bar becoming re-entangled with his brother, who brings danger into his business and life.
Showrun by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman, the series also stars Abbey Lee, Dagmara Dominczyk, Odessa Young, and Troy Kotsur. A few of our team members are already watching through Black Rabbit as we speak, and from what I’m hearing, it meets the high expectations.
28 Years Later (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Saturday
Danny Boyle and Alex Garland return to continue the zombie franchise, which has a large and passionate fanbase. Following 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, this new entry takes us 28 years later with a mostly new cast but plenty of familiar frights.
The official synopsis for the movie reads, “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”
With the second movie in this new trilogy set to release in January and filmed back-to-back, now’s the perfect time to catch up and see what all the fuss is about. We should note, though, based on feedback we’ve gotten since the release date was announced, this is very much a love-it or hate-it kind of movie!
Heartland (Season 17)
Coming to Netflix: Monday

Picture: Netflix
For a while over the Summer, it looked like Heartland could be leaving Netflix for good. Thankfully, common sense prevailed, and Netflix opted to renew the license to the show and will be picking up season 17, which is the season that ran on CBC in late 2023.
Season 17 of the feel-good ranch family drama series consists of 10 episodes and picks up where season 16 left off. Amy is surprised when Mallory shows up at the ranch, both incredibly pregnant and with a wild horse. Meanwhile, Jack and Tim face new competition, and Lou grapples with a familiar opponent in her campaign.
Fingers crossed that Netflix picks up season 18 of the show, which aired last year, and eventually, season 19, which will begin dropping later this year.
