We have even more anime news to announce! With the recent announcement of anime titles that will be coming to Netflix, it’s also been announced that Netflix has ordered Greek mythology series Gods & Heroes.

Netflix over the past couple of years has shown their commitment to bringing some amazing anime titles to the streaming service. Diving into a whole array of different stories and cultures Greek Mythology is up next to get the anime treatment. Gods & Heroes created by the writers of Immortals (2011) and Death Note (2017) have been given the go-ahead to create an anime based on the ever-popular Greek mythology. The series will be produced by Powerhouse Animation who are currently responsible for the production of Original titles such as Castlevania and Seis Manos.

The Plot of Gods & Heroes

As we’ve already established Gods & Heroes is an Original anime based on Greek Mythology. The plot for the new anime series has been described as the following:

Chronicling the illegitimate son of Zeus, a young man is tasked with saving heaven and earth despite the interference of a vengeful goddess and her monstrous forces.

The writers of the show Charley and Vlas Parlapanides have expressed their desire to write an original story based on Greek mythology, therefore, we don’t believe this is a tale about Hercules. Zeus is infamous in Greek mythology for sleeping around, so who’s not to say he didn’t sire more sons?
