Netflix has been steadily increasing its Indian content on Netflix and one of the best new titles from the region is Selection Day. The sports drama has seen its first season added to Netflix and news on a full second season has been quiet up until now where it looks like Selection Day has been renewed for a full second season.

Season 1 of Selection Day was split into two halves with part 1 dropping on Netflix on December 28th, 2018 with part 2 arriving on April 19th, 2019. The series wasn’t given an instant renewal despite

It’s a coming of age story about Manju Kumar, one of a pair of young brothers raised by a cricket-obsessed father and aiming to be selected into Mumbai’s under-19 team. When 14-year-old Manju, who also has a penchant for scientific facts, gets to know his brother’s great rival, everything in his life begins to change and he is faced with decisions that will alter his sense of self and of the world around him.

We’ve learned that season 2 in active development with Sharon Maguire, Anand Tucker and Anil Kapoor returning to produce. No official confirmation has come from Netflix as of yet and no filming dates are known currently.

The release schedule for season 2 hasn’t been announced but if it retains a similar structure to season 1, it’ll be split into part 3 and part 4. We’d expect to see part 3 hit Netflix at some point in 2020 with part 4 following several months after.
