Copyright Netflix

Netflix’s latest animated comedy series has now been on Netflix for almost a week and if you’re wondering whether the Super Drags are going to be returning for a second season, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s what we know about the renewal plus when we think we could see the next season drop on Netflix.

For those who haven’t seen the show yet, you probably don’t know quite what you’re missing. The exceptionally short first season of Super Drags comes from Brazil and is a mix of the Powerpuff Girls and superhero cartoons.

Despite being made in Brazil, the series is dubbed in English with well-known drag queens Trixie Mattel, Ginger Minj, Willam and Shangela providing the voices.

How has the series been received?

It’s fair to say the critical and fan reception of the new series has been mixed. Over on IMDb, the series sits at an average of 6.4. With that said, many of the reviews sit either at a full 10 or 1.

Has Super Drags been renewed for season 2?

Official Renewal Status: Reported to have been renewed

As of right now, no season 2 has yet to be officially announced by Netflix. But the website Fulha has reported that seasons 2 and 3 have already been ordered and, season 2 is currently in its script phase.

It’s also likely that we may see an increased order for season 2 meaning we’ll get more than five episodes.

Netflix has been desperately filling out their animated titles this year having lost the majority of the Fox catalogue in recent years leaving a big hole.

When will season 2 be on Netflix?

If the series receives a quick renewal, we’re currently expecting Netflix to have new episodes sometime in 2019.

Do fans want to see a season 2?

It’s fair to say a large group of fans want to see the return of Super Drags.

Now over to you. Do you want to see Super Drags return for a second season? Let us know in the comments.
