It’s the end of an era for the Lincoln. Filming has officially wrapped on the fifth and final season of Netflix’s smash-hit legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer and tributes have begun coming in.

Since its debut, The Lincoln Lawyer has been a certified juggernaut for Netflix, spending an incredible 29 weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10 charts across its four seasons and racking up over 171 million views since 2023.

But all good things must come to an end. Production on the 10-episode final season has been underway throughout the spring and summer, officially rolling cameras from March 2nd, 2026, until wrapping up this week.

Saying Goodbye to The Lincoln Lawyer

Taking to social media to mark the emotional milestone, co-showrunner and executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez shared a heartfelt goodbye alongside photos from the writers’ room:

“That’s a series wrap on The Lincoln Lawyer. Not the most exciting pictures but they mean a lot to me. Our writers’ room, the view from the writers’ room and my office. I will miss this show and everyone involved. This was the highlight of my career. Looking forward to what’s on the horizon. Thanks to everyone who has watched. I’m excited for you to see season five. I think we landed the plane!”

Leading man Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Mickey Haller) also shared numerous tributes on his Instagram as production closed out. The absolute highlight? A hilarious video of the cast and crew sitting in front of the Los Angeles coast with Garcia-Rulfo banging a drum while the crew rowed in unison—a brilliant, timely tribute to the viral Norwegian World Cup celebrations.

Upon the announcement of the final season earlier this year, creator and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez also released a joint statement thanking fans for taking this ride with them:

“All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us. From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion… We are immensely grateful to Netflix and A+E Studios for the opportunity to land this plane the right way. But most of all, we are grateful to the fans all around the world for watching and supporting the show.”

Following up that statement, Humphrey added on Instagram, “All I can say is thank you to our wonderful fans around the world for watching and letting us into your lives! I am so proud of the show and in the midst of shooting a final season that will give Mickey Haller a proper and satisfying conclusion (for now at least!). And who knows what other surprises the future may hold for these characters?”

The Lincoln Lawyer has always been a love letter to Los Angeles, and its production footprint proves it. Filming for the final season took place across Los Angeles and the LA Thirty Mile Zone (TMZ). Over the course of its run, the A+E Studios production reportedly contributed a staggering $425 million to the California economy. The show has employed over 4,300 cast and crew members and filmed at over 50 different iconic locations across the city—including Dodger Stadium and Grand Central Market.

What to Expect in Season 5

Season 5 draws inspiration from Michael Connelly’s seventh Lincoln Lawyer novel, Resurrection Walk.

Mickey Haller’s world will be upended when the half-sister he never knew existed, Emi (played by Cobie Smulders), comes to him with a plea to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. Mickey will take on a grueling habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction, unearthing a dangerous web of corruption and lies in the process.

A Quick Casting Recap: As announced back in May, the final season is bringing in plenty of fresh faces to round out the story. Six new recurring guest stars are joining the fray: Amy Aquino (Bosch) as Judge Olivia Alcott, Angela Trimbur (The Good Place) as Felicia, Elpidia Carrillo (Blue Beetle) as Muriel Perez, Nate Corddry (The Testaments) as Jimmy Finch, Tricia Helfer (Lucifer) as Brooke Miller, and Keir O’Donnell (Wedding Crashers) as DDA Lucas Peralta.

They’ll join our returning favorites, including Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Neve Campbell.

With filming now complete, the series enters post-production. While Netflix hasn’t set an official release date just yet, an early 2027 premiere seems like a safe bet.

We’ll keep you posted as more tributes come in over the next couple of days.
