Back in 2018, Coben signed a massive overall deal with Netflix (subsequently renewed in 2022 and again since) to adapt his best-selling thrillers into Netflix Original productions.

Fast forward to mid-2026, and we now have 13 Harlan Coben shows streaming on Netflix. The productions span the globe—from the reliable New Year’s Day UK releases produced by Nicola Shindler’s Quay Street Productions (often featuring Richard Armitage!), to international adaptations from Poland, Spain, France, and Argentina. Does a “Harlan Coben Cinematic Universe” exist? Yes and no. Because Netflix adapts the stories across different languages and production companies, there is no massive Marvel-style crossover connecting the British, Spanish, French, and Argentine shows.

However, because almost all of these adaptations are modernized and anchor their primary timelines to the “present day” of the year they were filmed, the chronological setting is practically identical to the Netflix release order.

The One Major Continuity Exception: If you care about shared universes, you should watch The Woods before Hold Tight. Both are Polish adaptations set in the same localized universe, and Hold Tight acts as a loose sequel, featuring returning characters dealing with the fallout of the first series.
