After thirteen Harlan Coben series on Netflix, the streamer is adapting the author’s beloved series Myron Bolitar, which Coben himself deems his “most prized possession”. Ahead of production later this month, the three series leads have just been announced.

Netflix and Harlan Coben have a long-running and hugely successful partnership. The streamer first worked with the thriller author on the 2018 series Safe. Shortly after, they struck a landmark deal to adapt his novels into several hit series. To date, there are 13 series in total. The most recent is I Will Find You, which has proven a massive success and one of Netflix’s biggest releases of 2026 so far. Up next is a UK-based adaptation of The Woods, headlined by Michelle Keegan. Further down the line, Netflix is adapting Coben’s novel series Myron Bolitar into a series, as announced during the streamer’s upfront presentation in May.

Myron Bolitar sits in a unique position in Netflix’s ‘Cobenverse’ as it’s based on Coben’s long-running novel series, which to date consists of 12 novels. Typically, Netflix adapts its one-shot novels into limited series. The Myron Bolitar novels began with Deal Breaker (1995) and the most recent addition in the series was Think Twice (2024). There’s enough scope in the novels for Netflix to keep this series on our screens for many years. Incidentally, Prime Video has previously adapted the novel’s spinoff series, Mickey Bolitar (Myron Bolitar’s nephew), into a series with Shelter in 2023.

Produced by Harlan Coben and brought to our screens by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) and Kyle Long (Suits), Myron Bolitar is every bit the fast-paced, twisty drama we’ve come to expect from Coben projects. It follows a former NBA basketball star turned sports agent who becomes an accidental detective, solving cases involving his clients.

The official tagline reads: “After an injury ends his NBA dreams, Myron Bolitar reinvents himself as a sports agent — using charm, smarts, and a ruthless partner to navigate the high-stakes and dirty world of sports, where saving his clients often means risking himself.”

Of all the Harlan Coben series on Netflix, Myron Bolitar is the one that Coben himself is most concerned about getting right. He considers it his magnum opus work. “Certainly Myron Bolitar is dear to my heart,” the author told Deadline in 2022. “I’ve written 34 books, a third of them involved Myron Bolitar; he is my most prized possession, and I’m really happy now that it’s in the Netflix camp, so that we can work hard on making it right. It’s one of the properties I’ve probably been a little bit more precious about.”

Who has been cast in Myron Bolitar?

As the adaptation ramps up its development, Netflix has officially cast its three lead roles: Colin Woodell (Pulse, The Continental) plays the title role; KJ Apa (The Map That Leads To You, Riverdale) plays Win Lockwood; and Diane Guerrero (Orange Is The New Black, The Lincoln Lawyer) plays Esperanza Diaz.
