Kathryn Bigelow has been responsible for some of the best thrillers of recent years, including Zero Dark Thirty and the Academy Award-winning The Hurt Locker. In recent years, some of the best new zombie titles have come from Asia, particularly South Korea and Indonesia. Helping to make zombies terrifying again is the vision of Kimo Stamboel, whose brand new film, The Elixir, could be Indonesia’s answer to Train to Busan.
When the father of a chemistry company attempts to make an elixir to reverse his aging, he inadvertently creates an elixir that kickstarts a zombie apocalypse in the local village.
