After three decades of waiting, Happy Gilmore is back on the green with Adam Sandler reprising his famous potty-mouthed role. Much like the first movie, Happy Gilmore 2 features some iconic tracks, including classic rock anthems, 80s pop classics, a dose of hip-hop, and some R&B for good measure.
The original soundtrack for Happy Gilmore from 1996 featured some absolute bangers including Tuesday’s Gone from Lynyrd Skynyrd in the opening sequence, Endeless Love from Diana Ross and We’ve Only Just Begun from The Carpenters when Happy was in his happy place dream sequence and a few of those songs (and artists) have made the jump to the sequel 3 decades later.
Although the movie features some original written songs, the main score is put together by Rupert Gregson-Williams (as first reported by Film Music Reporter) with the composer and writer best known for providing the score for films like Aquaman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, and, more recently, working on Netflix’s The Perfect Couple and of course, The Crown.
