More good news for My Life With The Walter Boys fans! Following the massive announcements at the recent 2026 Netflix Upfronts, we now have confirmation on exactly when My Life with the Walter Boys is heading back into production for its highly anticipated fourth season—and what that means for when we’ll finally get to binge it.
If you’ve been keeping up with our coverage, you’ll know that the hit coming-of-age teen drama based on Ali Novak’s Wattpad sensation was officially given the green light for Season 4 just recently. The renewal was one of the biggest highlights of the Netflix Upfronts in May 2026, which was packed with renewals, new project announcements, and teases about what’s to come on Netflix’s slate.
The renewal, of course, came before season 3 is due to drop a little later this year, aiming for a September 2026 release, last we heard. Thankfully, season 4 won’t be years in the making either, with a 2027 release almost certain. Here’s what we know.
When does My Life with the Walter Boys Season 4 start filming?
We can confirm that production is currently gearing up to return to the beautiful landscapes of Alberta, Canada very soon. According to updated production updates, My Life with the Walter Boys Season 4 is set to begin filming on June 27, 2026.
As highlighted by Netflix In Your Neighbourhood, the production will return to its familiar stomping grounds in and around Calgary, Cochrane, and Crossfield, Alberta. These locations have beautifully brought the fictional, picturesque town of Silver Falls, Colorado to life over the last few years, and Calgary is once again listed as the primary base of operations for Season 4.

Seeing the series get back into production so swiftly after the Upfronts announcement is a massive relief for fans, especially given how demanding the schedule is for the show’s large ensemble cast.
What does this mean for the Season 4 Netflix release date?
With the filming dates now locked in, we can start putting together a highly accurate prediction for when the new episodes will actually drop on our screens.
First off, we can definitively say that Season 4 will be a 2027 release. With production kicking off at the end of June 2026, filming will easily run through the summer and into the autumn. Once you factor in a standard post-production, editing, localization, and marketing cycle, there is simply no way the new season will be ready before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve.
So, when in 2027?
Looking at the release patterns of prior seasons, My Life with the Walter Boys has found a very comfortable home in the late-summer-to-early-fall corridor. Based on the show’s typical 4-to-5 month filming window and subsequent post-production turnaround, we are predicting a release date somewhere between August and October 2027.
Releasing in this window makes perfect sense. Not only does it align with the drop schedules of previous seasons, but a late summer or early autumn release perfectly complements the back-to-school season—a prime time for Netflix’s powerhouse YA dramas to dominate the top 10 charts.
