It’s not often that Netflix nowadays drops a teaser that has us scratching our heads and trying our best to work out what the heck is going on, but Sunday afternoon/evening (depending on where you live), Netflix socials dropped what looks to be an ARG/tease for an upcoming Netflix Game of some description that gives serious Back Rooms vibes.

The video comes with a couple of captions. On YouTube, it’s “What is this???” while in the description and in most other locations, like TikTok, it says “motion detected.” All of the videos posted tag the Netflix Games handle or is posted by the account for the game itself.

Let’s break down what’s seen:

Seemingly using CCTV footage or found footage, we

Here is what the individual camera feeds show:

  • [00:00] – A utility basement containing a washing machine, a bicycle, and a stool, which is in front of a painting with blue splashes all over it
  • [00:05] – An exterior view above a building entrance with a white van with a ladder.
  • [00:09] – A narrow outdoor alleyway where a figure, dressed in blue overalls and seemingly wearing a gas mask of some description, is looking at the building with bars over the window.
  • [00:13] – A sunken outdoor patio or stairwell with an oddly moving bush in the corner.
  • [00:18] – A long, empty indoor apartment corridor, and then we cut to another angle with the shadow of the figure earlier walking close to the camera, again wearing a mask of some description.
  • [00:25] – An outdoor alley with three garbage bins and an AC unit.

The key detail is the running timecode in the top-left corner of every feed, which begins at 06:30:26:00. Given that the video was just uploaded, this is almost certainly a date format (MM:DD:YY) pointing to a full announcement or game launch on June 30, 2026.

The only other clue we’ve got is from the post thumbnail on X (seen as our post image at the top), where we see a green box around the figure (who moves like he’s the Combine from Half-Life!).

No clues over on TUDUM. They did, weirdly, put the Overcooked article back to the front page again, but because their website doesn’t even have a search function, I couldn’t search for anything else.

What do the comments suggest? Not a lot. Over on TikTok, the majority of comments are about Michael Jackson (referring to Netflix’s documentary series) or Gilmore Girls. On X, it’s mostly reply spam. No help there!
