Orange Season 5 Netflix

Season 4 of Orange is the New Black has been the most exciting and most emotional season to date with so much happening in the 11 episodes that dropped midway through June 2016. As you may have already heard, a fifth season is already in production due for release in June 2017 and with that, comes even more twists and turns. In this article, we’re going to give you some indication as to what’s going to happen in season 5 and what you should expect to see.

It goes without saying that if you haven’t watched season 4 yet, you’re best to stay clear of the post below.

A Full Blown Prison Riot

At the very end of season 5, we get a full blown riot in the prison when all races come together to protest against the injustice bought against Poussey as well as the countless other wrongdoing between the CO’s and the in-mates. Will Daya pull that trigger? Who knows – but if she does, that’ll lead to even more prison time which isn’t exactly what her mother (who recently just got released) wanted.

Even more in-mates

We already know that the swelling population has led to a fair bit of trouble in the prison with rival gangs becoming rampant. Towards the end of the series, Caputo goes to see the ex-warden of Litchfield to apologise. Here though it’s revealed that the building project that saw the removal of the garden, would actually be housing for even more in mates arriving. This will cause even more tension and likely drive the resources to breaking point at Litchfield.

MCC Corruptions and Even More Scandal

A constant yet subtle theme through seasons 3 and 4 is the privatisations of prisons and why that’s a bad thing. We’ve seen the CEO’s son rise up and attempt to expose the corporation of wrong doing and it’s something that will be the main theme heading into season 5.

Towards the end of the season, we see Caputo have an article up about MCC bribing officials for even more in-mates to arrive into the prison. Will we see Caputo and the other CO’s rebel against the corporation? Will even more peaceful protests crop up?

Dealing with Poussey’s death

The biggest death to occur last season was undoubtedly Poussey and we’re still yet to see the real aftermath of that incident. We’ll be keen to know whether or not MCC does completely turn their back on the young CO Bayley or whether they continue digging in her past to find wrong doing. It’s going to have long lasting effects in Litchfield. How crazy eyes will deal with the fact she had some kind of involvement will also ask more questions.

Relationships

One thing season 4 set up nicely is the relationships, both new and old throughout the prison. We’ve seen the return of Alex and Piper being best friends but relationships such as Crazy Eyes is still yet to see what the outcome will be, particularly after she just beat her to a pulp.

Flash Backs

Something that happens each and every episode is that we get a back story of one of the characters, sometimes it’s a piece of their back story that leads to them getting incarcerated or just another tidbit from their past. . Season 4 had some of the best flashbacks and for most, the one that stands out is the Crazy Eyes one. If we had to guess, we’d think that…..
