Disney Movies Leaving Netflix in 2018/2019

Disney announced it would not be renewing its contract with Netflix that started in 2016. The deal elapsing will see some massive Disney titles leave Netflix as well as titles from the Marvel and Star Wars lineup. Below, we have the full list of titles

Initially, we reported that all titles would be leaving Netflix all at once in early 2019. It’s now been confirmed that this won’t be the case. Instead, titles will be leaving exactly a year and a half after they first arrive on Netflix. In that case, we’ve got the definitive list of those Star Wars, Disney and Marvel movies and when we’re expecting them to leave.

Does this apply to Netflix in Canada?

No, this only applies to Netflix in the US. Canada will likely continue to receive new Disney theatrical releases unless there’s news stating otherwise.

Will older Disney movies be removed from Netflix?

They may be removed but it will not be because of this contract elapsing. All other Disney movies are dealt with Netflix on a movie by movie basis but given that Disney will be throwing its weight behind its new streaming service it’s likely that some of them will be removed.

Will you miss these Disney/Marvel/Star Wars titles streaming on Netflix? Will you be jumping over to Disney’s streaming platform when it launches? Let us know in the comments below.
