Slasher is back for its third season. The anthology series that Netflix picked up has been flying under the radar for most but its third season looks to be its best so far. Here’s what we know about Slasher season 4, how likely it is to get renewed and when it’ll be on Netflix.
Netflix has had some other successes in the horror genre as of late having previously been reliant to the likes of American Horror Story. Just last year, Netflix released The Haunting of Hill House with a new season due out this year.
In case you’re not familiar with the show’s history or its format, let us bring you up to speed. The anthology horror series originally aired on Super Channel which has since gone under. Netflix picked up the series after season 2 and has released two series under its full Netflix Original banner.
Filmed in Canada, the series sees different killers at the start of each season with returning cast members playing different roles.
Season 3 released on Netflix in most regions on May 23rd, 2019.
It’s also worth noting that not all regions of Netflix got season 3 of Slasher in May 2019. Countries like the United Kingdom are still only streaming the first two seasons.
Has Slasher been renewed for season 4 on Netflix?
Official renewal status: Not yet renewed (last updated; 05/27/2019)
The show didn’t get an automatic renewal and we can’t foresee a fast renewal given several different factors although we’d welcome to be wrong.
Firstly, the wait between season 2 and 3 has been two years with season 3 only getting its renewal last August. If the series is to get a similar renewal delay like last time, we won’t be hearing about season 4 until 2020.
Another factor is that the shows creator, Aaron Martin is currently working on another show for Netflix. Another Life is a sci-fi teen drama that’s coming to Netflix later in 2019.
As we’ve said above, the third season is, without doubt, the series peak thus far. Despite criticisms on the writing which is one of the biggest complaints with all horror titles it includes some of the most gruesome kills on television.

The show’s creator Aaron Martin is on Twitter and constantly has fans asking him about the possibility of season 4. He’s yet to respond.
When will Slasher season 4 be on Netflix?
As we mentioned above, we could be in for a long wait for the fourth season should it get renewed. If it sticks to the schedule it has had so far, it won’t be until 2021 until the new season launches.
Of course, many are speculating what will happen in season 4 but given it’s an anthology and the way season 3 wrapped up, you can probably expect another killer and refresh.
