Update : It’s coming in February 2016!
AMC has begun the tradition of breaking up its series into different parts to create more hype for the second half returning. It’s often done with their flagship show The Walking Dead but Mad Men split up its final season in a rather untraditional way. Season 7 was spread out over the course of two years rather than giving it only a 3 month break for example.
This has led to many fans wondering what’s going on with the shows status on Netflix as the first half is currently streaming so the question is, will the second series come to Netflix? We strongly believe it will but like most of AMC’s contract with Netflix they renew on an annual basis. That means that we need to look to the past Mad Men’s to predict when it’ll be arriving on Netflix.
With that said we think that you’ll be seeing the second half of the final season streaming early next Spring if it conforms to this schedule. What you may find though, like with Breaking Bad, is that it’s added in the next few months before Christmas. Either way you’ll be streaming season 7b of Mad Men by the middle of next year which for many fans will be a bitter pill to swallow.
If you’re new to Mad Men then there’s never been a better time to jump in. The drama is based in 1960’s Manhatten in a major advertising firm. It’s a blast from the past to many and honestly has a very targeted audience but it worked well and arguably launched the career of Jon Hamm. All seven seasons are currently streaming on Netflix obviously excluding 7b.
