The Plot

If they recover the gem Solomon the fisherman can save his family, while Danny Archer the smuggler would finally be able to have a second chance at life.


Body of Lies (2008)

Arguably one of DiCaprio’s less celebrated films, Body of Lies struggled to make do at the box office. Even with Ridley Scott in the director’s seat failed to bring in the audience to make the film a smash hit at the box office. The performances of Leonardo DiCaprio and co-star Russel Crowe were praised in elevating the film, but a torrent of spy cliches in the narrative failed to impress critics. But if you’re looking for a Spy-Thriller to binge on then Body of Lies is perfect for you.

CIA operative Roger Ferris is at odds with his boss, the leader of the CIA’s Near East Division and the Director of the Jordanian Intelligence as the trio attempt to apprehend the elusive terrorist known as Al-Saleem.


Django Unchained (2012)

The collaboration between DiCaprio and Tarantino created one of the greatest villains in Hollywood history. Cast as Calvin Candie, DiCaprio gave an Oscar-winning performance that didn’t even earn a nomination at the Academy. The award did go to co-star Christoph Waltz, but DiCaprio’s presence as the despicable slave owner was one of the most captivating performances of his career.

The Plot

Gangs of New York (2002)

Gangs of New York was the first of many Martin Scorsese films that star Leonardo DiCaprio. While the film earned 10 nominations at 75th academy awards, sadly it would miss out on the lot. Looking for revenge against his father’s killer, Amsterdam Vallon returns to Five Points to murder Bill and avenge his father’s death.


Inception (2010)

As Teddy’s investigation deepens further, for him to solve the mystery he must confront his darkest fear if he has any hope of leaving the island alive.


The Aviator (2004)

The Aviator was the second successive Scorsese film in which Leonardo DiCaprio starred in. The Departed (2006)

Arguably some of Scorsese’s best storytelling The Departed is a personal favorite and cannot be recommended enough. How DiCaprio never earnt an Oscar nomination is beyond a shadow of a doubt one of the biggest sins the Academy has ever committed.

Boston Police officer Billy Costigan infiltrates the Boston Mob meanwhile Colin Sullivan working for the Mob infiltrates the Boston police department. Both the police and the mob know there are moles in each other’s organizations but it’s up to Billy and Colin to find each other In a dangerous game of cat and mouse.


The Great Gatsby (2013)

The legacy left behind by the 2013 adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald comes in the form of a meme. The Revenant (2015)

DiCaprio’s fifth nomination as an actor and sixth overall, his role as Hugh Glass was finally the film that earned him a long overdue Academy Award. The Plot

in the year 1823, a group of frontiersman are exploring the uncharted wilderness, one of the men Hugh Glass is savagely attacked by a bear and left for dead by his fellow frontiersman. Powerless to stop him, Glass witnesses the death of his son at the hands of one of the men while he lay gravely injured. Driven by vengeance, Glass must use all of his survival skills to traverse the deadly snowy terrain and track down his betrayers.


The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

Leonardo DiCaprio’s role as Jordan Belfort rightfully earned him his fourth Oscar nomination for a Best Actor award (three for best actor and one for the best-supporting-actor). 2014 was an incredibly strong year in the category, but DiCaprio’s Oscar would have to wait, missing out on the award to Matthew McConaughey. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)

What’s Eating Gilbert Grape was the second feature film DiCaprio starred in. The very first of many Oscar nominations to come, many still feel his role as Arnie Grape should have won. With a truly spectacular performance for someone of his age, this was just the beginning of what currently is one of the best acting careers to date.

The Plot

Gilbert Grape bears the responsibility of looking after his morbidly obese mother and his mentally impaired brother Arnie. Upon meeting Becky after she is stranded in the backwater Iowa town, she soon opens his eyes to a whole new outlook on life.
