After Enola Holmes 3, Millie Bobby Brown will next appear on Netflix in Just Picture It, a romantic comedy helmed by Lee Toland Krieger (who directed the romance hit The Age of Adaline, as well as episodes of You at Netflix). Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie.
First appearing in Stranger Things aged just 12, Millie Bobby Brown, now 22, has gone on to be one of the most esteemed and celebrated actresses on the entire platform. By 2020, she led her first movie, Enola Holmes, which has just released its third installment to complete the trilogy but there might be more to come. Beyond that, she headlined fantasy movie Damsel (2024) and also starred alongside Chris Pratt in The Electric State (2025). She’s built a Netflix empire, and there’s already a gluttony of projects still to come. Outside of Just Picture It, there’s also a movie adaptation of her novel Nineteen Steps, as well as TV projects including Prism and an untitled espionage series from Adolescence creator Jack Thorne.
Speaking on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast in June 2026, Brown referred to Netflix as her “home studio,” noting that she is “slowly developing things” with the streamer, specifically pointing to Just Picture It as a passion project.
Just Picture It will be her 7th project on Netflix. The film is a co-production between Netflix, Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum’s RK Films, and Millie Bobby Brown’s very own PCMA Productions. The two production companies previously collaborated on Damsel. Similarly, Brown continues to take on producer duties alongside her father, Robert Brown. Her husband, Jake Bongiovi, is also attached as an executive producer at PCMA Productions, alongside Alyssa Altman, Isobel Roberts, and David Kern.
Just Picture It marks the first romantic comedy Brown has starred in, and the second movie she’s worked on from inception. The first movie she was involved in from the outset was Damsel, which was a major success on Netflix reaching 50.8 million views in its opening week and hitting No. 1 in 79 countries.
What is the plot of Just Picture It?
Just Picture It is described as a romantic comedy. The screenplay is written by Jesse Lasky, marking his feature film debut after previously writing for TV hits like Revenge and Code Black. It is directed by Lee Toland Krieger, a frequent Netflix director who has previously worked on You, Dead Boy Detectives, and Shadow and Bone.
Just Picture It follows two college students — Bea (Brown) and Sam (LaBelle) — who are surprised when their phones glitch and start showing them pictures from 10 years in the future — featuring them as a happily married couple with kids. Is it a weird glitch, or are the phones really prophetic?
When the project was announced in July 2025, writer Jesse Lasky explained his inspiration behind the movie in an Instagram post. “My wife and I went to the same college but didn’t know one another, and reconnected 5 years later. But what if, back in college, we got a glimpse into the future and found out we end up together, married with kids? Inspired by this idea, I wrote JUST PICTURE IT. A funny, sweeping, modern romantic comedy.”
Once filming got underway, we started to see some behind-the-scenes glimpses featuring headline stars Brown and LaBelle together. In a July 2026 chat for Interview Magazine, Brown even teased fellow actor Louis Partridge that she had already shown him the exclusive reel for the upcoming movie. Take a look:

What is the current status of Just Picture It and when will it release on Netflix?
Filming on Just Picture It (which shot under the working title “JPI”) officially ran from September 8 through October 29, 2025. Production took place across Georgia, specifically heavily utilizing Gwinnett County, Atlanta, Decatur, and Norcross. The movie wrapped in late October 2025 and is now in post-production with cinematographer David Lanzenberg.
Netflix has not set a release date yet and the title was notably absent from Netflix’s 2026 What’s Next slate reveal. With filming complete and it being many months into post-production, we expect to see it land on Netflix sometime in late 2026 but don’t be surprised if it slips into 2027.
